It's was a chaldean church. Many people don't realize dearborn (right outside of detroit) michigan has is a huge chaldean/arabic community. It's the 2nd largest Ararbic community in the US.

Although it's an urban legend (thanks to the Snopes link above, guys), it MAY not have been improbable. Michigan has a heavy Arab population and Saddam fashioned himself to be a protector of Arab interests in the Middle East. Regardless, here's to PEACE in the Middle East sooner rather than later.
