How can this be? (links) HDR-FX1 HDV prices.

:helpme

I have always been a die hard B&H customer but god dam.

They have usually been in the ballpark most of the time but this doesn't seem right.

This link is right from google: http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...eo+Camcor der

right at the top paid add spot i found this camera listed for: 1500 bucks!: http://www.bestpricecameras.com/prod...?prodid=194135

B&H wants 3000.00! That's twice as much! Other merchants are also selling for 3000+????

WTF is going on here?:helpme

I don't know BestPricedCameras reputation but if you use a creditcard what do you have to loose? If the camera never comes or is fucked up just complain to Visa about it.

Says all their stuff is new factory fresh.

BestPriceCamera.com is a total scam outfit that will never sell you the product at that price or they will agree to sell you a camera without cables, a battery and other parts and then stillnever send it if you don't upgrade your purchase. Google them online to read the horror stories. Stick with B&H. Now I did save a couple hundred buying my FX-1 on ebay for $2800 brand new in the box but that is the best legit discount you are likely to find.

Grey market cameras are a part of the business you have to watch out for. Many of the products you buy at super cut prices will have no valid warrantee on them in the US. A real risk.

Some camera stores also "strip" the product down. Often the price you see is for the body only, without minor needed things like batteries, chargers, LENS(!), and anything else that they could pull out or off of the camera. When the XL-1s was a big deal about 2 - 3 years ago, there were places that would price the body only without anything, and by the time you had bought everything that was suppose to come with the camera to start with, the price was 50% HIGHER than B&H.

If you are going to spend that type of money on a camera, spend the last few dollars and buy it from somewhere with a reputation, that is a real certified dealer for the product you are buying.

I couldn't agree with you more. I have spent many thousands at B&H for those reasons, but in all honesty I've never had a camera fuck up under the warranty period.

If I could really buy one at that price from them I would. In a heartbeat. (As long as it was a new factory sealed unit as advertised)

It doesnt matter though because from the sounds of it no one is getting anything at those cheap prices based on what I've now read.
