Have you ever dumped someone?

Its 1am here in Australia and I feel like shit. I just dropped my gf of 18 months, I havent been happy for ages and it was always gonna happen, I just didnt want to hurt her.
I've never dumped anyone before really and didnt know how hard it would be, she didnt stop crying.
What made it worse, she hasnt got her licence yet so her parents had to come pick her up, and they live 2 hours away. I feel like the biggest asshole, I know that in the long run it was the right thing to do for both of us but doesnt make it any easier.....:(

Nop no need for that yet.

bausch 12-28-2006 07:10 AM

No, I'm too clingy and needy, I don't think I could dump someone. They would have to dump me first. Unless they cheated on me.

Cyndalie 12-28-2006 07:15 AM

Usually i just ignore them until they go away.

well not everything in life is about fun and joy.
Some things may hurt like scars. But scars heal in time, so will your soul..
If you are not happy and she is, then this is not love. You shouldn't be thinking that you dumped her, you released her. You want her to be happy, but not with you.. I'd say you made a smart move man.

4Man 12-28-2006 07:16 AM

I did not.

Spunky 12-28-2006 07:17 AM

It's tough but if you aren't happy, why continue to be miserable

Thanks, you are spot on when you say I want her to be happy, I want her to find a guy who loves her for her and makes her happy, just didnt think it'd hurt this much to do it.

reynold 12-28-2006 07:26 PM

I've been there several times, mate. She'll get through with that, for sure..

nAtuRaLbEautY 12-28-2006 08:06 PM

yeah, must have been several times. it's better to dump someone than to go on with the relationship even though you know that it's not gonna work out...

E$_manager 12-28-2006 08:17 PM

May be you should first start to ignore her, make her hate you, so that it would be easier for her to apart from you?

shekinah 12-28-2006 08:22 PM

dumping someone really hurts and will consume more time to accept it:(

corvette 12-28-2006 08:22 PM

Brilliant...

Sometimes doing the right thing hurts.

Yeah, I've dumped many people. But to this day the biggest surprise was my ex-wife. She was stunning, beautiful, and no one I've dated since has been as much fun. I couldn't have been happier but there was one thing.... I couldn't accept. I drew a line and she was unwilling to meet me half way. Instead two weeks later I packed my stuff and asked her to drive me to the airport. Talk about a long ride.....

It happens. Not sure if I made the right choice or not, but I have to live with it.

only time will heal

rodney25 12-28-2006 09:50 PM

If you think it's not working anymore, then she has to let go of you..
