Someone approached me wishing to purchase content and said he requires the id releases of my models because in the stae of California, the site owner must be the custodian of records. Is that true? or can he simple state my name and address as a custodian just like any other site.

Make him give you the text of the law itself and a reference to where it can be found in the California Civil Code.

Sounds bogus. Since the federal code allows a licensee to just post a content provider's custodian of record's info. Also, this law is federal, not state, and does not vary by state. The guy sounds very suspicious.

Yes.. I agree. he wants it for ONE model only, might be a stalker :-)
