I don't really have the time or inclination to spend time checking out stats, so unless a program sends out notices, I don't really know what is happening until the check arrives in my mailbox.

Well, I have had a couple emails come from Lightspeed in that last hour or so. I guess those XMas pc's are being put to good use.

Saying you don't check your stats make no sense. You should know how your traffic is doing.
It would be fucking idiotic sending any number of visitors to a site that you can't convert because you haven't taken the time to make sure you matched your visitors to your ads. And without checking stats you don't know shit about your visitors. Don't pretend that you are that stupid.

I don't check my stats often. I have links up to nearly a hundred different sponsors, and links off of a handful of sites, my TGP, and my blog is a part time thing. Every month or so, usually at the first of the month, I check my stats and figure out who's doing the worst and drop them. Otherwise I don't pay much attention to them.

The money I make off them - which might be more than most in our industry - goes straight into a bank account that I only use for large purchases.

I don't even know all the sponsors I use . . . . would burn a day just trying to track that info down.

That's the best way to do it - money earned from sponsors should never be relied upon as an income and so treat it as a treat to yourself :thumbsup

To be honest, I don't.

That's exactly how sponsor shaving in 2006 works: "Miss a check once in a while and see who complains."

We found a $9,000 missing payment when we reconciled all our sponsors.

But you all can thank Shannon for this: NO ONE can say Lightspeed owes them money. We have not missed or made a late payment EVER! (NOW 8 YEARS RUNNING!)

Ya... and that's Exactly the Kind of reason I stay with LightSpeed...

I've watched my sales with other sponsors take a dive... while my LightSpeed sales have remained consistant.

I also use lightspeed as a benchmark... when sales at one of my other sponsors suddenly go to shit.... and my lightspeed sales keep going... to me... thats an indication of a problem at the sponsor.

I've been around long enough to know there are random UPs and Downs... but LS as well as a few others that I trust help me see when a sponsor has gone shitty.
