Air Canada, the worst airline every!

I can?t believe Air Canada. They have the oldest and crappiest planes and terrible service. It is a mystery to me how they are even still around. I suppose they rely on the "one-time" vacation passenger, not the business person. Terrible. Don?t fly Air Canada unless you are forced to.

Validus 12-26-2006 08:26 AM

PS: I don't know how to spell this morning...

NemesiS876 12-26-2006 08:28 AM

They are flying are they ... so what :)

qdtobbe 12-26-2006 08:29 AM

air canada is a joke. but at least it isn't peace air, they are the scariest ass canadian airline i've ever flown...

Validus 12-26-2006 08:39 AM

Peace Air? Wow, never heard of them... WestJet has great service.

tranza 12-26-2006 08:41 AM

What happened exactly?

Juicy D. Links 12-26-2006 08:55 AM

i flew air canadia like 7+ times in the past 2 years no issues really but from NY its like a hour trip so they really couldnt fuck up....

one time they cancelled my flight 48 hrs b4 and had to reroute me through ottawa , thast is when the customs asswipes fucked with me

Axeman 12-26-2006 08:58 AM

Can't stand Air Canada. Planes are uncomfortable and the prices are way overpriced.

They are ok for quick under an hour hops though.

Westjet is far better without a doubt and better priced which makes it a slam dunk. Glad to see they are starting to expand where they fly.

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 12-26-2006 09:01 AM

westjet is great,

peace ait is justa shitty little airline out of peace river, does little flights around alberta and bc, they are the shoddiewst little planes ever, i flew calgary to grande prairie and i thought my plane was going to fall apart. but thats half the fun of flying in a little plane...

Pete-KT 12-26-2006 09:02 AM

I thought anything canadian was like that;)

Hey now, easy! LOL

I?ve been to Europe twice this month and every time there was a problem. Like, 1 1/2 departure delay because the food wasn?t on board and the wings had to be de-iced.. but they forgot to call the de-ice service company? to lost bags? oh, lost and destroyed bag.

BA all the way. If I didn?t have so many Aeroplan miles? I?d switch in a heartbeat.

  • Delayed departures
  • Lost bag (destroyed bag)?
  • Rude gate staff
  • Incompetent partners (BMI, etc.)
  • Crappy air planes? like my seat auto-reclined when leaning back? and the flight attendant snapped at me for not keeping my seat straight.
  • Not working entertainment center in Executive First class

Oh the list goes on? and on? and on?

Mikaxxx 12-26-2006 09:29 AM

AmigoPorn 12-26-2006 09:34 AM

GTS Mark 12-26-2006 09:39 AM

You think Air Canada is bad??? :) Try American Airlines more often - they are the utter pits - together with their "regional carrier" - American Eagle.

Never really had problems with airlines, excluding the odd delay, till boarding an AA flight. Since then *every* AA flight was a problem and some of these problems lasting months after the flight - with AA deviating and slithering to avoid accepting responsibility. Never again - they can't be trusted with shit and kinda remind me of iBill conduct, pointless :pimp

The airline biz is not an easy one, even forgetting the effects of 9/11 - suspect AA is too big as a commerical entity and downline management (tho they may be OK) are not in control. Since that track record of problems, I've heard far worse from ground crew - including "grounding" aircraft in foreign airports till they were in a fit condition to fly.

Sure.. if they can't cut it - it's better they are out of the airline biz. The collapse of Air Madrid may cause short term scheduling problems, but they don't last.

The old Aeroflot need an award for suicide missions :winkwink: Between seats coming loose in the passenger cabin and flying styles of a fighter aircraft, they take some beating :)

PS Think the aircrew were ex-MIG fighter pilots? Explains the drop for 5000 ft to 1000 ft in one second :pimp

Validus 12-26-2006 09:54 AM

Now they won’t credit me my Aeroplan miles, without me physically mailing in my ticket. Whats with that? They credited me for 2 flight on the ticket, why can’t they just credit me for the other 2. What a nightmare.

Don’t fly Star Alliance.

tehHinjew 12-26-2006 10:04 AM

LOL i remember comming back from israel, my flight was from israel to toronto, and they asked if any one wanted to read a news paper, then one flight attendant was like, hey maybe our shitty company might be in the buisness section!

Methodcash Rick 12-26-2006 10:13 AM

Nothing can compare to China Air, worst plane flight I've ever had.

Yes, and they have nice planes and very polite/helpful flight attendants.

Air Canada is re-doing their planes... I hope they re-do their training plans as well...

True

if youre flying coach then basically delta united aa its all the same, but for a few bucks extra BA and KLM are still my fav. Plus BA 9.5 hrs PHX-LHR is amazing, no shitty 3 hrs layover in Atlanta or so.

BA rocks.

Bryan G 12-26-2006 11:05 AM

I disagree, Air Canada is much much better than US Air, United, Delta in my experience

I am not sure how much you fly? maybe their service is dependent on the routes? Maybe budgets are assigned to routes? Not sure. All I can say my Air Canada travel has been terrible.

I got 16000 miles in December and not one of those miles impresses me? LOL.

vidvicious 12-26-2006 11:17 AM

Yeah AC sucks, bad service, Period. As for crappy planes I'm not too sure about that in comparison with american airlines. Last week (on a local AC flight) We got to be in a brand Spankiong new plane, Personal touch screen LCD monitors for every seat. With Tons of TV and movie entertainment ... Made the 45 minute flight, just fly by.

However if you ever have to Connect thru Toronto and are going thru customs there too ... you're shit out of luck. I can't tell you how many times I've missed my connecting flight, Because of Air Canada. The Perarson Airport set sucks big time. You need to leave the Bagage Pick up, enter the public area of the Airport, Walk to the end of the Terminal. Reenter Securtity (if you bought something at Dutie free your shot out of luck, with the new rules you can't bring any liquid thru security) once tru Securtiy, They buss you to the correct terminal. CRAZY!!! my flight was a good 30 min early, so I thought I could hustle and catch an earlier flight. NOT GONNA HAPPEN. you need at least 60 min to go thru this process. We had 2 hours and got to our gate with about 30 min to spare @ midnight!

WiredGuy 12-26-2006 11:19 AM

Air Canada has improved over the last 2-3 years but when you're Canadian, you have very few choices so Air Canada is the most common airline up here. Now American Airlines on the other hand, is the absolute worst airline I've ever travelled with. I'd rather be on an aircraft with bin laden than fly American and take my chances against the US air force, lol.

I used to manage an airline, and I can categorically state that Air Canada is one of the worst corporate citizens out there. Predatory pricing, and shit like that.

air canada has always been good to me

tranza 12-26-2006 12:26 PM

You guys are complaining because you never had to fly Aeromexico. I think they are the only company that have burritos for breakfast.

:(

facialfreak 12-26-2006 12:42 PM

Air Canada is MUCH MUCH better than some American airlines ... especially Northwest ... this airline is SOOOOOO bad, that it got it's own reality television show (AIRLINE!)

and yes having flown on both, I'll take Air Canada ANY DAY!

IMHO, KLM is one of the best international carriers, but Air Canada is not all that bad - I will book with them if KLM or Lufthansa are not an option ...

facialfreak 12-26-2006 12:47 PM

If you want to talk about shitty flights, ask anybody who sails about the DASH-8 charter flight from Barbados to St. Vincent ...

Fucking farting causes major turbulence ... and the St. Vincent airstrip is cut out of the side of a volcano - you about shit your pants because it seems you are going to crash into the mountain!!
