23456 The second one.

BusterBunny 12-23-2006 08:38 PM

unless you are playing hi low.........then you have a split

HomeFry 12-23-2006 08:38 PM

If you have competing straights, it goes by the highest card in the straight, then by suit, if they are suited straights or the same straight (Ranked by high card suit).

hearts (high), diamonds, clubs, spades (low)

baddog 12-23-2006 08:39 PM

23456 this is the higher straight

you're an idiot. casino's don't rank by suits.

i've asked maybe 20 casinos in different parts of the world if they rank by suit and every one says the same - all suits are even

first I ever heard that.

you mean to say a royal flush of diamonds beats a royal flush spades?

Not by Hold'em rules, or any casino rules that I'm aware of. Equal straights, or flushes are valued only by high card.

You didn't say anything about casino rules. Suit ranking isn't standard, but it is used at some tables.

well duuu

people can make up any rules in their home they want.:2 cents:

you can only win if you have a condom wrapper on your head in my house.

micker 12-23-2006 08:48 PM

it depends on the game... in hi-low and some low variants that wheel straight would win. In high poker the 6 high would win. its all going to depend on what game you were playing.

slavdogg 12-23-2006 08:52 PM

standard holden rules dont suits dont matter
no matter where you play

if they do than its holden with jerk off attached to it

micker 12-23-2006 09:00 PM

yeah, suit doesnt matter when comparing hands. There are some games like chicago or black mariah where the high spade in the hole wins part of the pot, but those are oddballs and few and far between...

I love black mariah, not many folks up here are familiar with it though...

At holdem', two different suited flushes are impossible.

dig420 12-23-2006 09:10 PM

only time suits matter in holdem is dealing for the button

And the winning hand. The ace is low in the other hand.

Unless of course you count the royal flush bonuses that a lot of smaller card rooms have (and some casinos). I have only had one of those so far in actual play...the house paid me an additional $125 which was about the same as the pot size.

Even at Omaha I think it's impossible. You have to play two of your hole cards in the hand.
