How many of you really want a PS3?
 

Yes, I run a site relating to PS3, but I've been reading a lot of reports from "trusted" sources that there isn't as much of an interest in the PS3 as everyone originally thought.

I don't "trust" these sources, so I'm going to ask myself: How many of you are truly looking for a PS3, and how many of you only wanted one to sell it?

I really don't see the hype for all the game consoles.the last system I played and still have is a Sega cd :)

Sure but I am not about to pay bloated prices. I will wait until there is a good line up of games and possibly a sale.

I personally have a Wii...I love it.

i make it a point not to buy 1st generation stuff , wait untill it has been on the market for a bit and new batches released , don't like the idea of paying to be a beta tester
especially at the inflated prices they sell the beta equipment for

Zelda, played that the most so far (AWESOME game). I have Red Steel - my brother has played, loves it, I haven't. Rayman - fiance loves it. Wii sports - awesome, awesome, simple game..I probably play this the most. Madden 07 - i played this for like 40 minutes, it's hard as hell, never picked it up again.

I have an xbox360 on the way and have no desire to get a ps3 til they have a good lineup of games.

From what I've seen...the 360 and the PS3 are most similar. If you have one, then there's probably no point in getting the other (unless you REALLY want blu-ray). The game genres seem pretty similar between the two and the graphics (as of now atleast) very close.

I personally do not game, but I have a son that has been into gaming since he was 5 years old. He beta tests for playstation here and there and hopes to do it full time at some point. He would really love a ps3 and a wii, but i was unable to locate either one for him for Christmas...so he will have to wait until sometime after Christmas for them.

To him gaming isn't a *game* but more of a lifestyle..I don't pretent to really understand it, but I support him in everything he does :)

I'm honestly kind of interested to know where this new "gameplay" that nintendo invented - and sony's including - will truly go over the next decade.

360 has the best games by far right now
gears of war and oblivion are far better than anything else. Wii is a regular xbox with a neat controller

I had the opportunity to buy ps3s at retail price at the stores this year, saw them in stock.

I just didn't bother because no games interest me yet

I still love my PS2. Ain't running to get the PS3.

xbox360 or wii for me, if I was to buy any gaming system at all.....

I am not much of a gamer though, I usually just buy the systems so my friends can play when they are over...

the Wii just looks like SO much more fun

0 good games on it right now, and limited selection of movies...

Umm actually I have a PS2, just never even plugged the damn thing in. Was a random prize from a sponsor.

I think the fact that the 360 has been out for a year and finally started making some good games has put a small damper on the PS3. Not to mention with the problems relating to the 360 at launch, I think some people are skeptical of launch consoles and will wait to see if they are buggy or not. As a casual gamer, I honestly couldn't tell too big of a difference in the two systems (note I don't have 1080p TV).

Lets also not forget that we're talknig a system that runs about $600. It's tough to justify it when you have the 360 for much cheaper and the Wii which looks cool as shit at a real low price.

I'll buy it. On retail price when it's launched in europe. Not gonna buy any extra to be the first to get it...

Not too fussed about it to be honest. The price is a bit of a joke aswell. Parents here won't be happy when their kids are asking for a £425 PS3 in March...

The PS3 is rad as fuck. I can't wait to get one and drop linux on it.

The next iteration of games that come out are going to be amazing. They haven't even scratched the surface of what the console can do.

When they work out all the manufacturing and firmware issues, the price comes down, and games start taking advantage of it's full power, I might get interested. 1-2 years?

1-2 years, I wonder what the hell else they're going to come out with. PS3 may be "obsolete" by then...even with its scalable cell processors.

Got the 60GB and I like it. NHL and Madden 07 look great. I also have Resistane:Fall of man that doesn't suck either. Its expensive, but a nice toy nonetheless....
