That's planned for 2007. I thought the games would be kid-like and reasonably gay (Animal Crossing Wii, for example), but the game PLAY is actually very addictive. I used to think "graphics are everything" -- I mean, shit, I have a very high end PC, and play some graphically intensive games ... but gameplay is REALLY turning out to be king.

Yep. You can also use a keyboard or a phone-entry type of system. I can type pretty quickly on it, all things considered. I wouldn't use it for hardcore data entry, obviously, but it's really nice to be able to hop over to the web in the living room to, for example, check out something on YouTube from the couch. Speaking of which, YouTube plays AWESOME on the Wii -- you can play music videos pretty much full screen, and they look hot on "standard" TV resolution.


I love it. I'm re-arranging my priorities in what I wanted in a game. I used to think it was all about graphics, carnage, etc. But shit -- I've had more fun with Wii bowling and Wii tennis than anything in a long time. The best part is, when people come over the house, they "get" it immediately, and can begin to play right away. Everyone is high-fiving, waving around, and laughing their asses off. That's how you know the Wii is a winner, in my book.


I like the Xbox 360, but will likely be getting rid of my other consoles once the online play for the Wii is active.

I like my Wii Wii

I downloaded the old Nintendo Ice Hockey and I've been playing it quite a bit, for as cheesy as it is, it's a lot of fun. I can't wait for them to put Punch Out in the marketplace, I'll definately be getting that :)

As far as it being the best console, I think it's the most innovative and fun console, but with the fact that it's not a hi-def video game system, that's really gonna hold it back.

i discovered the same with the nintendo DS.. gameplay IS king and ive been playing my DS like i used to play games back in the 80's when i was a kid

For me, gameplay is king. So far, it's been destroying everyone else in sales, but we'll see what happens when more PS3 units hit the stores.
