Most and least liked tourists.
So much for stereo-types....
According to a survey taken in 17 countries , Guess who were considered the nicest and the most obnoxious tourists . The most polite , pleasant and best liked : 1) The Germans . 2) The Americans . ( beleive it or not ) 3) The Japanese . ( No suprise..they're very polite ) The rudest , most unpleasant and least liked: 1) The British . ( Suprise ) 2) The Russians. ( No big suprise ) 3) Canadians. (How many votes did [Labret] have ? ) So much for the myths of the nice Canadians and The "Ugly Americans". |
Damn Rude Canadians!:321GFY :winkwink:

Canadians might get rude when the service sucks which I hear it does most places.
So that survey is wrong. :) |
So [Labret] has had the correct view of Canadians all along???

They still rate Germans and Americans highly , don't they get shitty service too ???:helpme |

Unfortunately Mr. [Labret] has a very accurate view of a certain portion of my countrymen. What he doesn't realize is that most Canadians feel the sameway about those jerks. :winkwink: |
Maybe now, Canadians will not be in such a rush to sew their flags on their backpacks (i have travelled a bunch and its always only the Canadians who feel the need to tell everybody that they aren't Americans by plastering the flag all over their clothing and packs).

an american company made that survey... could this have influence on the result?

Is there a link to the site/survey?

I think what might be considered 'rude' might be how a lot of canadians try to barter.
I used to work in this shop back in hawaii, selling glass knick-knacks. Almost every time canadian tourists would show up, they would try to barter down the prices with me. I had the freedom to do so, so I didn't mind, but other employees from the shops around me would bitch about it to me on breaks, about how much they hated that. I just figured bartering was common in Canada, so didn't see a reason to bitch. Just a thought. |
That seems a little fishy about german tourists being the nicest. Every single country that I have been to absolutely despises German tourists (especially European countries)

This is funny.... looks like a doctored survey..
Just thinking of few posts on here and remembering where I've been on holiday... Russians - everyone says they don't have any money.... and considering like a Russian Doctor earns less than an average Burgerking employee I'm suprised they have managed to find anyone to ask in these 17 countries of how rude a Russian is because they have never visited their country on holiday. I've travelled through Europe quite a bit as it's pretty local, but don't think I ever seen a Japanese tourist apart from in Athens. Japanese tend to like taking lots of pictures and seeing places of real interest, not beach holidays in Spain. It's great how us guys in the UK get so much bad press.... when many destinations allowed the opening of the oh so wonderful Club 18-30 holiday specials... yep lets encourage big groups of party going brits to come to our country, offer them leathal cocktails for around $2 a go, encourage drinking contests, allow tour operators to block book hotels and fill them full of assholes and then after nights out in their clubs until 4am expect the same bunch of wonderful holiday makers to come back and say 'Thanks for a splendid evening chaps, we will just go quietly to bed.....' Get away from the asshole attracting spots like Malia on Create and the rave spots in Ibiza, most of the UK lot are fine. When you speak to the locals as well, they always seem to love tourists from your country, but don't like them from somewhere else. Amazing. |
Come on, that is so wrong its not even funny. American's have always been loud (once, when I was visiting the states, a grocery clerk said "I always wondered what canadians looked like"..
