Media Player Classic. Best one I've used so far, especially with the K-Lite codec pack. It isn't very pretty but it works great. :upsidedow

VLC is very very good for video playback.

winamp blows. why would you ever use it? its almost as bad as real AND its owned by AOL of all people.

I have found the need to place windows media player onto 2 harddrives in my system. One to hold the classic version 9.0 and the other to hold the newer one that will update regularly. Your screwed if you don't have 9.0 for alot of media extensions really.

In addition to that I also have quicktime, winamp, real player, and a few other obscure players. Hope that helps.

i also use only VLC for all my movies from the local harddrives, for online ones quicktime pops up and plays them in the browser and for mp3's, winamp:)

Never had any problems with it.

So what is an alternative other then WMP?

So winamp is the only mp3 alternative to WMP?

Also how do you not have WMP check the digital rights? Even my ipod songs get flagged for not having rights to play it.
