Anybody know what martial art he does? From his dress thingy Im thinking Aikido? (which would explain why he cant break the wood)

and there's no connection between what style you practice and breaking wood.

Of course there's a connection.

If your particular martial art does not train in breaking or do any of it you might not know any of the simple basics (aim through the wood - behind it - not at it, make sure the holders arms are locked out and strong, make sure the grain is the right direction, good technique etc).

If you are used to pretending to throw non-resisting friendly opponents around and "using their momentum against them" you probably wouldn't be as good as a "striker" that's trained with good technique and explosive power.

I guess you do Aikido then? lol

judging from his form, the fact that he can't punch and the fact that he seems to have absolutely no idea how to break a board, it doesn't appear that he trains in anything at all.

He should have tried one board and then go back to trying two. Walk before running.

funny thing about this is i grew up going to karate almost everyday till i was 16 years old.
i studied kenpo under one of the worlds most famous Grandmasters, and breaking bricks and wood was prob one of the easiest things I have ever done.

His problem is simple. He is using his power instead of following through with the entire body.

One of the funniest martial arts moments I ever saw is when some TMA clown was breaking wood, missed the board and it flew up in the air and came down on the holder's head and broke from that tiny impact lol

Those are specially made boards they buy, anyone could break them. Except for this guy apparently.
