Paypal is starting to fuck with me...

Ok first the come up with this thing about "Limit Account" crap, due to anti-money laundry laws in Europe, and asked for a lot of stuff (copys of lots of personal stuff sent by fax)...

Fine I said....

So now after having it all sorted (plus new card created and added just for it), this clowns asked me for a new phone number...fine I said...

and now...they ask for copys of monthly bills of some of the cards i've used in the past (net only cards each lasting 1-2 months), something I dont have...

This is really starting to get on my nerves....:disgust

you're posting and whining about it on a adult board

in any case, it still sucks to be you at this point.

HometownHardcore 12-19-2006 04:49 PM

Paypal is shit. They fucking suck and they'll lock your account if someone reports you and even if you prove you're innocent? Good luck getting your money back!

Quit moaning then... :glugglug

Rui 12-19-2006 04:51 PM

It was partially my fault in leaving so much money there, but well lets say I've been very calm since this whole ordeal started (late October)...

If they only had a decent working mail support system...

fucking shit....

Thanks for the reminding me that Paypal is no worthy.

gfx3 12-19-2006 06:04 PM

I don't like paypal, I avoid using it as much as possible. Don't keep money in your paypal account it's just not not safe. They freeze your account whenever they feel like it.

After Shock Media 12-19-2006 06:14 PM

Just go with the process and send them what they ask. I would normally tell you to give them a call though it would be hard since your in the EU.

I keep large sums in paypal all the time. I have also never had a problem that was not fixed within a day or two max. They have never frozen my money. They have never cancelled my account. Only thing they did was return some money once over an auction, that latter got reversed and I got the money back in a short time after proving it was shipped. I have also had my account for a long ass time. I just am careful to not go and break their clearly stated rules.

Thats what I've done (but cant do with the last stuff they requested), but it seems they just keep adding new stuff to request...and now they don't even bother to state it in my account profile, only by email...this is being abusive to say the least!

Wonder what they will ask next...a blood sample?:disgust

Rui 12-20-2006 06:34 AM

Just got on the phone with them, and was told (after explaining the case) they will look into my case and to send yet another fax with some other info...

the guy on the phone had a worse English accent than I me eh

thunder99 12-20-2006 08:12 AM

A lot of the stuff they need is for EU money laundering rules. They have a big support center in Dublin, Ireland for European customers and I've always found them pretty helpfull on the phone. If you don't have a particular item they've requested, they'll usually accept something else.

I love posts from people genuinely that stupid i.e. because I haven't been screwed yet they must be a good company.

I use Paypal heavily sadly, simply because it will cost me money and sales not to do so. However, I certainly would never leave a large sum in there not least of which is because of past problems with them.

But ffs - to claim that Paypal do not screw people for no real justification is the best example of the three monkeys I've ever seen. Sure use them but be careful.

But then of course every company is great until you get screwed by them. Those with just a smidgen of intelligence though will minimise any impact if/when that finally happens. Those without, as with your post, will put their fingers in their ears, hum loudly then scream even more loudly when they finally get screwed.

Just sent yet another fax with more than 5 pages worth of bank/personal data...all in the name of "security" right?

the irony...

pornpf69 12-20-2006 01:55 PM

get your money out of there...and close your account!!

Rui 12-24-2006 07:53 AM

I see the light :D

got the best xmas gift I could have: my account limit access levels were lowered (already can withdraw money again :D )

anarchy 12-24-2006 08:03 AM

I have some bad news my friend.. They had me go trough the same shit and they will keep at it, requesting new info, until you grow tired of giving it to them. This can go from starting to dispute certain things, or asking for translations and highlights in the stuff youre sending them. Either way, you're fucked. If you turn out to be one of the very lucky few your account will be unlocked. In most cases, you will have lost your money for 6 months, and then it will be easier to get it back (thanks to a class action lawsuit - they used to ask for a ton of paperwork even after the 6 months, but thats been fixed now). Paypal is a scam - the way it works is they have so much fraud and randomly block peoples accounts to make up for it, so they can keep existing as a 'bubble'. I hope you have a good bank that's willing to lend you the money for 6 months..

I hope you learned your lesson.. Get it the fuck out of there and never keep money in it anymore. That way they won't steal it cause it's not worth it. You're one lucky son of a bitch ;)

Crazy Ben 12-24-2006 08:19 AM

well they still owe me 800 and takes about a year to get it.

Yes, I have been through that and they really pissed me off. Had no other choice than to fax them everything in order to get my money out. A few months later they started exactly the same bullshit again and wanted me to fax exactly the same papers a second time. I basically told them to fuck off after which they even called me in Europe to say sorry and they sent me a Paypal T-shirt (which I never used...).

Masterchief 12-24-2006 08:34 AM

I'll never understand how someone could trust any bank/company/etc to hold their money. I keep all of my savings in gold bars that are in my possesion. Even if the US dollar totally crashes, i wont be as fucked as everyone else.
