Internet explorer 6.0
Does this happen to you? And do you know how to fix it?
For some reason, it does it all on it's own, but when I go to save an image on the web to my comp it will only give me the option of saving as a bmp file. It will do this for a few weeks, then go back to normal where I can save pics as .gif or .jpg Does this happen to anyone? and is there a solution? Thanks |

Clear your cache and set your cache at low file size..
You may be using xp and need to get a eraser program and mutliate all the files in your cache.. I have no idea why it does this but it seems to be when my cache is full It also tries to save as a .jpe. XP has some weird quirks... |
It does it all the time. Just clear out all the temporary files and it will work again. There is another bug that won't let you view the source of pages after a while. Again, clear the temp files and it will start working again.
Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files |
I;ve been getting banners and things saved as .jpe also in XP . Took me a while to figure out why they weren't working.

The only browser worse than IE is Netscape. I wish all my members used Opera. Now and then one of my users will write with a question like, "Are you insane? Why are your images bmp's and not jpg's?"
|
I'm running WinME, and this happens to me every once in a while.
Shit, I didn't know it was a bug. I thought it was because of some .cgi shit or something when the browser doesn't know it's a .jpg (after it's been loaded into memory), and all it can do it save the current copy of the image in memory (which is stored in memory as raw data, and not as .jpg) to disk as bmp (since that's window's format). Ah well... whatever... |
While we're on topic I thought I'd ask the question.
Since I upgraded to IE6; When I open a link in one instance (of IE), and go to another, it switches back to the other one soon after before (instance one) finishes loading. This is extremely annoying. I go back to what I was doing. But it often does it again! Sometimes 3-4 times for big pages. It's fubar. Any ideas? |
