Generally yes WG - passenger loading is 550 - 850 and designed to carry them 5500 - 8000 kilometers, so long-haul flights.

Been waiting for this for long enough and prob be able to use em within 5 years or so - new international airport is already under construction locally with an extra 5000 meters of runway to take the A380.

tony286 12-19-2006 12:32 AM

that looks really cool

Lensman 12-19-2006 12:37 AM

RawAlex 12-19-2006 01:18 AM

Actually, the A380 has been all over the world a number of times, including a recent visit to Canada (Vancouver) and stops in the arctic in the past for cold weather testing.

I posted a really cool video a while back of them doing crosswind test landings, with the plane coming in literally at a 45 degree angle, and pivoting on a single set of back wheels just as it touched down to point straing down the runway... very cool.

The first passenger flight was about 2 months ago, all people from the factories in europe.

That plane has more bugs that a version 0.001 cms software package.

reynold 12-19-2006 01:26 AM

Looks like you've been into a relaxing flight, guys. :)

:pimp :pimp :pimp

OzMan 12-19-2006 03:07 AM

Don't hold your breath, the A380 just got clearance to fly commercial flights only a week or so ago. Airbus has been plagued with delays, they are about two years behind schedule with several airlines canceling orders.

QANTAS won't see one on the LAX SYD/MEL route until the end of 2008 at the earliest :(

emthree 12-19-2006 03:17 AM

What a way to die.

Why 12-19-2006 05:00 AM

Stacey_JoinRightNow 12-19-2006 09:08 AM

Thats cool, it somehow made me awake! hehehehe

Crazy Ben 12-19-2006 09:23 AM

well i love to fly in comfort but this is over the top. I guess there will be only very few airlines that will take this delux version. I just name it like that. But if you want to fly first class then i am sure you will enjoy your flight. Well i do not always fly first class but some times but i guess business class will also be fine in this plane.

tranza 12-19-2006 09:33 AM

Looks pretty nice..

MikeB 12-19-2006 10:38 AM

That's a nice looking bird on the inside.
