"webmasters make $$" link on your sites?

Wondering if you guys put one of those "WEbmasters make $$" , or the like, type links on your sites and if so have you had any luck getting worthy referrals?

99% of all paysites have that. Usually it says $Webmasters$ or something similar.

I only have one worthy referral and its to the link in my sig, and I really have no idea how I got it.

My "make money" on all my sites go to one page, and that page sees about 100 uniques a day, but I only ever make a few bucks max a week from the referrals it gets.
The only reason I have an update the page is because its a refference to myself on what programs I am signed up with, and what my username or aff number is with that site.
I have started putting my link code to the sites I promote from each sponsor so I can grab the link codes quick and easy without logging in even.

EDIT: GetNaughty, I think he means on non paysites.

I really don't know , sorry

Jarmusch 12-18-2006 09:33 PM

It's usually the surfers that click on those links, so no.

MattO 12-18-2006 09:37 PM

I don't want to turn my surfers into webmasters who will then clog up GFY, so no.

My sites all have that . But it's not a huge money maker.I could probably buy a monthly value meal off of referrals. Well, if I didn't super size.:(

Do you mean on your own pay sites, or on your free sites?

On *pay* sites, it definitely makes sense. All big sponsors do it. You have to promote your cash program for it to be successful.

On *free* sites, as someone said, you are just siphoning off surfer traffic which can make good money. It is hard to make money on 2nd tier webmaster referrals. All you do is build your competition.

One of those links is how I got in to the industry back in the day.

same here. the guy had a page setup to "sell" me on signing up under him. The sponsor was a per click type deal and once I got it all setup I thought I had something but hidden in the terms was if I didn't make the payout each month the amount wasn't carried over. I sat for 3 months waiting on checks that would never arrive.

So I wouldn't bullshit others and would only list sponsors I can easily get sales on... not just because the sponsor will give me $200 per referral.
