Teacher pushes Christian values on students

Shall we lock him up!?

Before David Paszkiewicz got to teach his accelerated 11th-grade history class about the United States Constitution this fall, he was accused of violating it. Shortly after school began in September, the teacher told his sixth-period students at Kearny High School that evolution and the Big Bang were not scientific, that dinosaurs were aboard Noah’s ark, and that only Christians had a place in heaven, according to audio recordings made by a student whose family is now considering a lawsuit claiming Mr. Paszkiewicz broke the church-state boundary.

Lock him up? No. Ban him from teaching in public schools or non-confessional schools.. yes.

Idiots like this give good christians like Donny a bad name.

I think that the overly-litigious nature of modern America is one of the symptoms of it's main problem - a complete lack of personal responsibility.

In this case though, the teacher is the one who should take responsibility for his mouth and be fired. The students have a valid case for a lawsuit against the school for hiring him and him personally for violating federal and I'm sure state laws by introducing faith-based teaching into public schools.

That precedent will shut up the rest of the flock in public schools, which would be a great start on removing their influence in a lot of places.

Um why doesn't he just get a job at a private christian school...

Any Christian influence in American schools pales in comparison to what those schools teach.
By the way Mr. Z why do you think its ok to teach "theory" in school and not anything based on historical record?

rodney25 12-18-2006 06:38 PM

Obviously, that wasn't on his lesson plan..

Beat him to death! And let's see if he's religion could safe him.

Ok, I was just kidding; though I'm also wondering who's also open to this idea. :)
