Are sponsors getting nervous?
 

I know it's Christmas time and that means a slight slow down, but it seems to me that sponsors are getting more desperate for business. Everywhere I look it's 80% payouts this, $75 per signup that. Of course that's all good for us webmasters, but if sales are getting low hence the generous payouts, what is this going to lead to?

Maybe everyone is just going mad...

you can tell on a daily basis who is desperate for sales.

It could also be the season for sponsors to give back to their affiliates.

Not our program. we want our business to grow of course but certainly do not feel any sense of desperation about it. If the sites didnt sell well or something we might, but they convert like crazy so its all good :)

Well, I did it! Day 6 in the business. I am really learning a lot. I think I have enough solid knowledge behind me to wake up and post a brilliant, deep, insightful question on GFY making people stop and ponder the future and demonstrate my grasp of what I have learned to date. I think they will be impressed.

yeah, i'm sure you made most of your money back when it was DARPANet... that explains your brilliant insight and analysis.

year end is great time to run promotions/buy traffic/etc, you get tax deductions for this year, but income will be generated next year...

Yes I did make a shit load of money back then, and amazingly enough I'm still making a shit load. I guess ten years of hard work instead of bitching on message boards really does pay off.

A lot of companies are coming to their year ends as well. This time of year is famous for increased expenses.
