What do you do when a bird wont leave?
 

Not the usual kinda 'bird' I take pictures of! This little fella flew into my garage 2 hours ago, and just wont leave. Seems very happy even if we stand right next to him. Think its some kind of Racing pigeon as his legs are tagged. What should we do? We tried 'flewing' him away, but he comes right back into the garage. Any one any recipes utilising pigeon as a main ingredient.

Just call the animal control guys (here, we'd just call the SPCA), they'll come and get him, and hopefully whoever it belongs to will swing buy the local animal shelter...

If he's still there.. take a sheet and toss it over him then scoop him up inside the sheet and take him outside. It's likely he came in to get away from a hawk or falcon. Hopefully he'll find his way home. With all the tags, he belongs to someone.

Those things are usually quite expensive (my last cat ate 2 chicks worth over £1000 each...)

Ok, another two hours later, cars away, and the poor guy is still around. My GF is an animal lover and wont let me do any harm so the gun idea is out. We think he's now sleeping so perhaps we should offer him B&B for the night?

the leg bands are identification.. call animal control... I would imagine they have knowledge of how to i.d. the tags and contact the owner.

We're going to leave him for the night and call someone in the morning, its been fast asleep for 3 hours now, seems to cruel to push him out :)
