He just got through eating a delicious can of spam with some saltines and wanted to share his exuberance about it. Can’t a man eat in peace without you giving them hell?

How the hell this place in Dublin is valued at a mill US is beyond me....

http://images.forbes.com/media/lifes...3_1214home.jpg

Tho one thing that is very misleading is the valuation in dollars - when the dollar is worth very little right now. That house would then be GBP 512,000, which although still appears expensive, is not far above the local market.

Gorgeous homes in Costa Rica and the Caymen islands..you basically get 1500 square feet in L.A. or NewYork

reynold 12-17-2006 09:35 PM

Looks like South Africa is one of the cheapest places. :)

TG Rebecca 12-17-2006 09:40 PM

The other thing that is missleading is association dues. All of the "condos" have association dues. You might get a nice 2 bedroom in NYC for 1 million but you will likely pay 3K or more a month in dues.

amandaspost 12-17-2006 09:42 PM

Interesting :)

mattz 12-17-2006 09:45 PM

Thing about Caymen (or any Caribbean island) is the shortage of space on the islands - the land cost is going to be a major factor, - but Costa Rica is not the same on land cost (tho still having silly annual increases)

Just been working out - tho hard to say from the photo, - constructing a 5000 sq ft home with pool, maids quarters blah including land is not going to cost more than $350K. Stuff an interior designer and landscaper in for a few weeks and the sale price is prob gonna be around $1.1 - $1.4 mill. Realtor concepts of sales prices can be kinda crazy - but hey, people pay that money :)

khs 12-17-2006 09:56 PM

nice looking homes

True Will... Always wonder why anyone would want to be stuffed in a condo complex and be left with these "priviliges" to pay.

The most outrageous example condo complexes was here in the last few months. OK.. they provide infrastructure stuff, but that is nowhere near the costs - they were charging $1100 sq ft for finished construction price. eg.. $2.2 mill for a 2000 sq ft condo - duh? The funny bit is one of our partners here operates a realtor biz and she sold three of these places in about 6 weeks - crazy world :pimp

What a fucking annoy set of ads on that site... intentionally built to create bogus adview counts... what junk. They could have done a slideshow that doesn't require reloading everything on the fucking page for every image.

rodney25 12-17-2006 11:15 PM

London is still one of the most expensive when it comes to real estate..

madawgz 12-17-2006 11:46 PM

wow some of those places were REALLLLY small for 1M :\

Vitasoy 12-18-2006 01:47 AM

Puts things into perspective.. but location, location, location

tony286 12-18-2006 01:52 AM

Gary_TLX 12-18-2006 02:18 AM

That was pretty cool. I wish I had a million, I'd go searching in Costa Rica for sure. :)

BlueDesignStudios 12-18-2006 02:47 AM
