Personally if I were to go with Sony I wouldn't get the FX-7, when the V1U is out. http://bssc.sel.sony.com/Broadcastan...V1U/index.html

Canon G1 is the same as the A1 with the jackpack added. I would go with one of these two.

I was told about 4900.00 Canadian at my local shop. Take the time and go talk to one of the pros at the shop face to face. (and I'm not talking Future Shop) They know their shit well, and will help you make the best decision for you. Don't buy a camera you've never held. Also don't be swayed by the " 'Only buy Canon!" or "Sony is the Best!" ' crowds. I've found loyalists to give untrue assessments, especially on cameras they have never used. Hopefully the rep at a pro camera store will give you an unbiased opinion.
