DMOZ Directory, a thing of the past...
So let's discuss this...
We are now going on 2 months where you can no longer suggest a site to DMOZ. You get the old "Service Temporarily Unavailable" message. This is very unprofessional to say the least. I think it is safe to say, they will never fix this and continue feeding surfers with outdated websites. The end of DMOZ. RIP! |
You assume that any surfers are ignorant enough to actually use DMOZ anymore. Surfers can smell outdated mouldy shit for a mile back.
|
You have no idea what you are talking about. Google directory is fed from DMOZ and so are some others.
If you work on getting 1 listing, DMOZ is the one. |
I stopped trying to get anything listed there 5 years ago.. I think you have to pay them off to get anything listed.
|
I became admin from one of the categories aprox. 3-4 months ago, there were pending links from 3 years back!
But Google Directory is sourced from DMOZ.org so the links that are on the directory are receiving a lot of SE value. Best Regards, Jan Jaap |
Man I remember trying to sign up to become a reviewer, I pretty much got instantly rejected :1orglaugh
That's gotta be some corrupt shit. |
Well, they want to maintain a high quality index ;) So if you suggest like 10 of your own sites then your aplication won't get accepted.
|
Dmoz is so corrupt, it's scary. The corruption starts way at the top and filters all the way down. So basically, all you end up with are directories where the editors have listed all of their own sites and some of their friends, and rejected everyone else. Dmoz is doomed to fail, it's just a matter of time.
