Blitzer had not one intelligent rebuttal. |
Uhm............. David Duke sounded like, well, a Ku Klux Klan member to me?
How are you people thinking Wolf got owned? Duke is a freak and obviously an Anti-Semite. |
Quote:
And you're obviously a close-minded idiot spoonfed by the media. |
free speech only applies if you are on the proper side of the media and establishment

Duke stomped on Blitzer tonight and it was great to see. |

Uhm......... Do you know absolutely anything about David Duke and his life-long history of hate and intolerance against virtual every and any minority? Right now he's over in Iran attending the president of that country's "The Holocaust Never Happened" forum....... |
Quote:
"Life long history of hate and intolerance" So if someone is pro-European they are instantly intolerant? How do you view the NAACP or PFLAG? I think you would be hard pressed to find any hateful speech from him. Do not confuse expressing views and facts with hate... That is called freedom of speech. The conference in Iran was to discuss issues, openly, that are illegal to talk about in Europe. Imagine that... a topic of discussion is illegal and you can be thrown in jail!! |
Quote:
And do not claim he went to Iran to " to discuss issues, openly, that are illegal to talk about in Europe". Your talking about Iran, where their citizens have no rights. And no, Wolf didn't get owned. David Duke made an ass out of himself while Wolf just sat there and calmly let it happen. |
Quote:
I hear people say all the time that Iranians have no rights yet I always hear about students protesting in Iran which seems to be their right. Yeah, Duke is a KKK monkey but when someone can make a claim about the holocaust and anyone who disputes the claim is sent to prison then I would rather listen to the KKK monkey because at least people can dispute him and I can hear both sides and not have to accept whatever is put before me blindly like a stupid sheep. |
Holy fucking SHIT, Blitzer got owned. Blitzer showed his bias early on by calling the guy a former kkk member 11 times lol... man that was such a classic owning.
|
Interesting.
David Duke is a former Louisiana (Republican) state representative. He is now a member of the gay community and long-time New Orleans resident and the father of two. |

According to wikipedia, David Duke believes Zionists were behind the 9/11 attacks to reduce sympathy for Muslim countries by the west. This was based off a broadcast from Feb 2002 according to WiKiPedia.
Last time I checked, Osama bin Laden wasn't Jewish. David Duke has his opinions clearly formed about Zionists, and if you really think you're hearing a non-biased view, all you need to do is look at his history. While he does bring up some valid points regarding his KKK association being brought up 11 times as biased, speaking against the Holocaust and being put into jail (all things which I disagree with), it doesn't make everything he says true. Don't be fooled, unless you want to be. Yes, you will have to be "open" to believe his point of view, frankly, because there's no direct evidence to prove it. |
Quote:
I don't recall hearing anything about students protesting in Iran, but I'm pretty confident they were in the streets burning the US flag moments after the World Trade Center towers fell. The only reason David Duke was invited was because he was the only one in the US stupid enough to believe the holocaust never happened. |

Iran is under strict Muslim laws and hoo-boy, draw a cartoon there of Muhammed and see if you have your head the next morning. There is no free speech in Iran so this whole "conference" is a joke in itself.

Blitzer is simply following the tried and true formula that seems to work each and every time (but not too well this time) to discredit someone right out the gate - RACIST YOU RACIST YOUR RACIST ITS RACISM THATS RACIST! It's starting to become less and less effective. The more people hear that accusation as the answer to everything and every problem under the sun, the less serious they begin to take it. And that's why Blitzer got owned. |
Quote:
Try to see it like this: free speech is a good way to keep track of who the nazis and other freaks are and what they are up to. Without free speech they seethe and boil in secret and do dastardly deeds on the sly. There is no way to legislate a persons thoughts and internal world, if someone is a racist, SO WHAT? As long as it's just speech and they aren't killing anyone, let them spew. |
Mmmmm.... interesting. There are several issues and not got time to say now.
But... a few things... the concept of denying the holocaust should be offensive to any human being, irrespective of race or religon. Media within the US is slanted towards the State of Israel to a totally absurd level - it's laughable. At the same time, the same media has cherrypicked and deliberately misquoted statements by the current Iranian leader (tho he's not the first). One would also wonder why Mr Duke was ever elected into political office within the US - even tho he may make claims to have reinvented himself. I don't know if this person has a criminal record, but would not be a surprise, since he would be in good company in Washington with a fair number of convicted criminals who, oddly, have been found good enough to hold govt office. Democracy has some strange friends. Re freedoms in Iran - it is ironic the recent conference was about freedom of speech while Iran holds a less than perfect record for this. Neither the State of Israel of the US are in any position to adopt high moral ground on this topic. The US has supported oppressive dictatorships for decades by financing, supplying weaponary and even training in torture techniques. The State of Israel has broken all records in occupying another nation for over 30 years, while using internment camps, mass imprisonment and murder. The majority of the population of that occupied territory live in the three largest refugee camps on the planet and have no hope of an exit route, employment or medical care as we know it. Can't be bothered with any more - this stuff is hypocritical beyond belief - all round. There are no parties to it who deserve to be listened to or who can claim any moral highground. They are all a disgrace. |

If I should automatically and blindly discredit anything David Duke says, even though the points he made sounded reasonable and not 'filled with hate', because of what the man was 30 years ago, then I should not listen to a fucking word coming out of the mouth of Ariel Sharon; and one would not need to go back 30 years to find a history of hate, murder, tyranny and criminal acts. |
I believe in freedom of speech whether the person is spewing hate or not, people should have the right to voice their opinions or beliefs whether we agree or disagree with them, but i, also in this case will exercise my right to not have to listen or watch it.

As for Ariel Sharon, I don't recall him in the 1960's as saying Egypt, Jordan, Iran, Iraq and other countries should be "wiped off the face of the Earth". He did what was required to protect his country and his race. |
Wow, there are some idiots in this thread.
People who deny the Holocaust know damn well it happened. They do it because they would like to see it happen again. |
very interesting opinions on both sides. The holocast did happen, do jews control or strongly influence policy in the middle east I think thats a grey issue at best.

You can see similarities throughout many, if not most, major events that have taken place throughout history. A great example is slavery and the US Civil War. In most text books (at least the ones I remember) it was taught to children that the Civil War was fought over slavery (that is to end it) when in fact it seems to be the Civil War was fought due mainly to economic reasons. Slavery itself was but a drop in the bucket on the reasons the Civil War was fought yet it was chosen to be a glaring ‘talking point’ of the Civil War. |
Duke has always peppered reasonable arguments in with his more unpopular ones to make him more palatable. I think he lives or teaches in the Ukraine now and is re-married to a hot 20-something blonde blue-eyed Russian.
Some interesting tidbits: 1) He wrote a book titled African Atto, written under the name Mohammed X. The book advises blacks on how to fight against their white oppressors. The book describes martial arts techniques and advises blacks to yell "hootoo" when confronting whites, in order to scare them, and to "rid the body of bad air." The book was written to help the Klan identify "radical" African-Americans, who would buy the book 2) Using the pseudonym Dorothy Vanderbilt, Duke published a self-help book for women, titled Finders-Keepers, in 1976. The book dispenses advice on sex and makeup. 3) Duke was charged for what was described by prosecutors as a six-year scheme to dupe thousands of his followers by asking for donations. David Duke pleaded guilty to tax evasion and mail fraud in December 2002. Four months later, Duke was sentenced to 15 months in prison. 4) In an attempt to run for president, came in last in the primary, winning 4% of the vote in his home state. Later running on an independent ticket, he won 1% of the vote in his home state. |

Prob the major difference is Ahmadinejad talked about it - the others did wipe people off the face of the map. Subtle difference, but ironic?? |
