Site maps
Anyone have, off the top of their head, good links to site map info? examples, how-tos, or whatnot?

Of course, when I need a good example, I just point to one of ours.

k, next question, is it better to make a Google only sitemap, or one for all SE's?

We aren't doing anything different anyway. |
There was a story about Yahoo and MS endorsing Google's format in the news in the past few days

"...The main benefit of the Google Sitemap is that you are suggesting information to Google about your website, such as which pages are most important and which ones have been updated. Do it right, and Google will likely follow your suggestions. Do it wrong and you could really mess things up! To sum it up - Add the Google sitemap (click on the graphic below this box) if you can, but always have an html sitemap on your website if you want to be known by all search engines!..." |
Big G good ole Yahoo! and classy MicroSoft are 'reunited' and accepted an unique sitemaps standard that is available on www.sitemaps.org. The standard is based on XML and XML sitemaps that could also yahoo and msn read. If you have G xml sitemap you do not have to change anything, yahoo and msn spider will take it and index it :)
Pretty cool stuff if you ask me :thumbsup |
