Is my plasma fucked up?

I have an old one and a reasonably new one (philips ambilight) The ambilight one is having these tiny little lines flash, about a CM in size, in about 3 places, just randomly. No idea what would cause this. I dont leave it on when I dont watch it.

I checked my other one, to see if it was poor cable strength, but its fine.

Anyone had this problem before?

Totally misinformed. I've got some in my store rated for 60,000 Hours (about 30 years of average TV watching)... Some are rated to last longer, some shorter, but definitely more than 4 years on any of them.

Does it happen on every channel? Try playing a DVD instead of watching TV, or switching input sources and see if it still does it. You could narrow it down to a certain input, which would help in diagnosing it.

Also, try hooking up another TV and see if it does it, cause you could narrow it down to the source device if so.

Some really good ideas, thank you. It is happening on every channel, I will try the DVD idea.

Go to www.AVSforum.com and search about it. You can find anything there.

From what I've heard, phillips plasma are notorious for problems.

You're welcome... hopefully it's just on the tuner... what kind of input is it, a cable/sat box?

Hope you got warranty on it.

Yep, those extended warranty plans are definitely good on big items like TVs and laptops.

A lot of them are in-home service now too!
