Police Find $400,000 Worth Of Cocaine On Beach

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- Investigators are looking into why almost $500,000 worth of cocaine washed ashore at a Hollywood beach.

Police Captain Tony Rode said officers found about 37 kilograms of cocaine Tuesday morning wrapped tightly in cellophane. He also said the bundle was likely out at sea for a month before it reached land.

Rode said drugs are usually dumped into the ocean when people are being chased by the Coast Guard.

The clear cellophane was covered with barnacles.

seeing articles like this one, and th eone about the guy who bought the used car packe dfull of weed and all that shit, where the cops are instantly notified makes me wonder sometimes. it seem slike its always an honest god-fearing citizen who make sthese finds, how many finds like this are made by people who don't ever make a claim!?

i wonder what happens to someone if they were just transporting that...and it wasnt their investment....

my guess is that they didn't float quite as well as the shipment...
