Think we have freedom of the press?
holy shit. An old online friend just had his video camera ripped from his hands, BY POLICE, while he was covering a rally.
What is amazing is that the attempt to stop the video...was caught on video. In the era of video cameras on cell phones, isn't seizing video pretty futile? I'm not sure what has shivers running down my spine... The actions of the cops? Or that the 'age of surveillance' is unstoppable? |
all over north america we are losing our freedoms...i used to think it was just down below..but it is happening in canada as well..sad..as i dont think anyone will ever do anything about it....sad to see where we are headed

just wait, this is only the beginning

come on. its a consulate. its security and police defending the building of a foreign government in what is clearly a more than a "peaceful protest" being that you can see the gates are all fucked up and mangled.
proof again, that there is always more to the story ;) if you have no freedom of speech, your friend would be kidnapped and killed or imprisoned for posting the videos of the incident and writing about it... but as it is, they are totally, completely and 100% free to do so, to mischaracterize the events, twist things around and turn it into propaganda on their anti-government, "Bush is a traitor" website, without any fear at all of reprecussions. sounds to me like their "freedoms" are just fine |

Ive been reading history lately and it goes back and forth. Its up tight now then it will loosen up and back again.

Perhaps then, and only then, would they fully understand the rights they enjoy as Americans. |
