Body find sparks serial killer fears

The body of a third prostitute has been found near Ipswich, sparking fears that a serial killer is on the loose.

The victim was in her 20s and has yet to been named. She was found in woodland by a member of the public.

It followed the discovery of the bodies of Gemma Adams and Tania Nicol on the edge of the Suffolk town last week.

Gemma, 25, and Tania, 19, were discovered five miles apart in the same stretch of water.

They were both naked but the cause of their deaths is still unclear and there is no evidence to suggest either had been sexually assaulted.

Officers made the latest discovery after being called to Nacton near Felixstowe at 3.20pm by a member of the public.

Detective Superintendent Andy Henwood said: "There are obvious similarities between Tania's and Gemma's disappearances and subsequent deaths so we will be treating these as linked investigations.

"However, we will be seeking further opinions from specialist advisers to confirm this view."

He said police inquiries were continuing "to try to ascertain where and when Tania and Gemma's bodies were placed in the water and the circumstances of their deaths."

Yep it's all over news24 this morning.

Now they are saying there is a fourth prostitute that has gone missing in the same way from the same area.

The area where the bodies where found is not that far from where I live, and it's a bit freaky...

guess only the whores have to be scared.

because...as I heard one police officer say yesterday..many prostitutes are what are considered 'worse than dead' - meaning people don't report them missing often

Just finished reading the paper and saw this.

I guess its easier to get a prostitue to go with you than a normal person. Offer them some cash and they get in your car. The fucker whoever he is, is picking the girls up like a normal punter.

Is the killer still on the loose?

I read a few months back that somebody was saying that there are 3 probable serial killers in britain at the moment. They predicted this one and another down south and one in the Midlands. If they predicted this a couple of months ago, how many people may have been murdered.

yeah..this is my thread from yesterday..the third body is said to have died of asphyxiation but they aren't saying with the other victims

Those poor women. Hopefully they catch the perp soon. The notorius Pig farmer Robert Picton trial starts in January in Vancounver. 6 counts of 1st degree murder for killing prostitutes but may have been responsible for up to 54 women. He is by far Canada's most notorious serial killer.

Don't think that is uncommon with these types of victims Sarah - especially if the killer considers them "filth". Chances are, according to the killer, he's a "power" at work doing the cleaning up of "the filth of society" under guidance of a supreme power or similar.

Odd bit - they were all found naked - could be sexual or some other warped-brain reason from the killer's younger life. Smell there is a lot more about the SOC than the police are currently admitting to.

a great deal of the past famous killers of prostitutes involved sex..often with their dead bodies..and many of those were people that thought they were killing for moral reasons ..sickly I know too much because of a course I had to take this year and had to read way too many counts of serial killers

as far as being naked..the police appear to think that is to make DNA testing more difficult
