new rules on ebay, look at their scam
 

SO I listed an item on ebay or I should say I tried, it was flagged and said I could not list it until I verified my paypal account, well I don't have one. I spoke with live help and they said I need to open a paypal account to list some items even if I do not use paypal. It is just a way ebay is using to force you to sign up with paypal.

That's been their standard for quite a long time

using paypal as your only payment on ebay has benefits though

It's mainly just to verify your address and/or bank account. You don't have to use paypal (minus rare occasions such as selling PS3 pre-orders or stuff like that), but you do just to get your addy and stuff verified. The amount of scammers on ebay… it is just simply staggering. It’s a necessary evil.

I have been listing on ebay for 7 years and never had an auction denied for it, they told me it was a new rule that came in affect. oh well

ebay is evil, they will screw sellers whenever they can.

i guess its that 23cents that they rip out of your bank account , 23cents over X amount of signups , a good scam

I seem to recall they deposit money, not take it out.

they've banned all payment methods other then paypal i heard.

I dunno about e-payments, maybe, but not land-payments. Money Order/Check is still an option.

you know, they have this great big huge website that explains all that, and in this day and age you can get there in less than 10 seconds to see for yourself and not have to worry about "word of mouth"

Fuck PayPal. And when did this go into place, this must have been very recent because I just opened a new seller account like 2 weeks ago and I did not run into this issue. As much as I hate Google, they need to open an auction service to give eBay a little competition and all this bullshit would go away.

ah my mistake , i don't use paypal , just remember getting told about the 23cents

it's hardly a scam, if you don't like the way they run things, you can always sell your stuff elsewhere..

does anyone know of any other Auction sites like ebay . or any classified ad sites like craigslist.org ???
