Yes for some reason Canada uses PAL. They also only have 220V electricity and you need to buy a travel adapter if you want your American-made electronics to work in Canada. All Canadian hotels use a different wifi standard also, so you'll have to pick up a USB or PCMCIA adapter from a Canadian store like Future Shop to be able to go online with your American-made notebook.

I hate visiting the US because my portable 8 track player overpowers the adapters and fries them, so i have to bring 6 or 7 damn adapters when i go on trips! All for the love of stompin tom connors.
