Different interpretations of css in ie and ff

I tried sth like here:

.menu li {

list-style: none;

line-height:14px;

}



body>menu li {

line-height:12px;

}

Cause in ff there is 2px larger space between lines then in ie. But dont know why this code dont work, i thought that ie cant interpret body> but i think i made some error.
Plz help

Sometimes you just have to find a happy medium with it. Thankfully IE7 should be more like FF is since it should be w3c compliant.
