A migrant worker threatens the girlfriend of his employer during a standoff at a traffic overpass in Xi'an in north China's Shaanxi province Friday Dec. 8, 2006. The man, who took the woman hostage to demand payment of about US$400 from his employer, was subdued by police after a one-hour stand-off. The woman was rescued unhurt.
