Anyone belong to Netflix??
I'm thinking about signing up, but don't really know anyone that has ever used them. Is it a good/worthwhile service if you watch a handful of movies each month?? :upsidedow

I joined about a month ago
so far its a good service i have the 2 movies at a time package i think its 14.99 a month fast delivery usually and great selection I like not having to go to the store and browse. |
I love NetFlix.
|
I did Blockbuster for my mom and she really enjoys it. She also gets a couple of free store rentals a month and they've started a deal where you can return the mail movies to the store and they will immediately mail you your next one, or you can get a free store rental right then.
|
I like blockbuster b/c you can swap out the movies that were mailed to you at their store.
|
I love Netflix. The best part is that I always have a few movies waiting for me. Normally I would wait until the last minute, then go to a blockbuster and try to find something to watch that same night.
Now, I watch the flicks that I order, put them in the mail.. and more of MY picks show up a few days later. Very nice program. |
i have netflix. i like it.
|
It's a great service. Have had it for about 6 months.
|
Netflix is cool, but yeah blockbuster has some nice features too. Just depends on what you want. Nice to have movies coming in the mail, and they have a great selection.
|
It's awesome. I get 3 movies at a time. Haven't watched many lately though.
I started watching "Football Factory" this morning which someone on GFY recommended. |

Thx 4 the feedback. Seems like everyone enjoys it...I'm gonna sign up :thumbsup

sign up, go to cancel in a month. see if you get offered a discount rate..
also there is a class action lawsuit against them, they delay sending out movies to the high volume users. if you get a 3 at a time plan and get more than 12/15 movies a month you can get throttled. im told by some friends for returns they drive to the post office and drop them in a box rather than sticking in their mailbox so they get back to netflix 1 day faster. |
I've been with Netflix for 6 years this Jan. LOVE IT. I first got it because I was spending a fortune in late fees. Now that I've moved to the middle of nowhere, it's perfect.
Watching TV shows I've missed is great - been catching up on Boston Legal, Monk, Grey's Anatomy, etc. |

I use BlockBuster. I don't know what competitive advantage Netflix has over them if any. You get the same mailing services from BlockBuster as Netflix, you also get coupons for free movies if you do want to get something last minute at the store, you can return your movie at the store and get another rental immediately and they ship you other movie the next day.
I think the overall value is BlockBuster. I don't see what Netflix offers that Blockbuster doesn't. |
I love netflix and have the 3 out at a clip plan. The Blockbuster deal sounds good too but I can't stand the bitch manager at the BBuster by my house and refuse to go in there.

i used to have netflix and at first they were awesome, but like bitaudiovideo had mentioned above, if you get a ton of movies every month, they slow down your service. i used to get movies really fast, and loved it.. but once they noticed that i was returning my movies so quickly, they started to take forever to send the next movie(s) on my list. not cool, and not what i paid for. "we rush you dvds from your list" and "Our 41 shipping centers across the United States allow us to provide nearly 90% of our members with delivery of their DVDs within about one business day following shipment" (both quotes from their website) my ass! at first i got them in about one business day, then it started taking like THREE business days, yet i was paying the same price as i was for the previously "rushed" and speedy shipping.
this is also bs: "On our most popular plan, the 3-at-a-time plan, you can rent UNLIMITED DVDs and exchange DVDs you've watched for new ones as often as you like." because they definitely prohibited me from getting as many movies as i was getting per month in the past with them once they noticed my high volume, so in essence they are pretty much limiting you. because of that lawsuit mentioned above, i think i get a free month as compensation.. but i haven't heard from them as to when this free month is going to be. the other cool thing about them (before they were slowing down my service) was that they also had work out videos, television shows on dvd, etc.. something for everybody. i loved browsing their movie list and finding movies and tv shows that i had totally forgotten about. it was nice to watch them again. :) |
I love Netflix! :thumbsup

DVDDollars is the affiliate program for SugarDVD. It is the place Tori Spelling rents her adult DVDs online from:)

I just looked at my history and I get 10 or 11 movies per month on average. I guess I have not tripped their "you watch too many movies" switch on my account yet...

My mother uses the free in-store rental thing more than she ever thought she would. We had relatives here over Thanksgiving and we used it twice, which was really nice. It's good for spur of the moment stuff. |
