Eh it's just too big for a computer monitor, imo. hard to tell how far to put it away from you...you are either squinting or it's just in your face.

resolution would be too low, cant do it.. i mean u could it just wouldnt look good. get the dell 30"

probably would be cool for some surfing and looking at videos

i think for working might not be so good,

I've hooked my laptop up to my 42" plasma before. I watch movies on it, but as far as just using it as a permanent monitor, it's way too stressing on the eyes.

some 1080p screen could work, but you'd have to look at it from awfully long way away.

very nice and pimp!

My brother just got a 46" and hooked it up as his computer monitor, I thought it was going to look like shit but it's actually really good looking, not quite as sharp as a good 20" LCD, but close.

I can see it stressing out the eyes if you are trying to work on it for an extended period of time though, it's just too big and large white areas (website backgrounds) make your eyes bleed if you are close to the screen, but he mainly plays games on it, and for that its friggin awesome.

My main monitor is a 36" HDTV. Bought a 42" first, but it was TOO big. This replaces an LCD monitor I had trouble reading. Sad to say, my Start Bar is forever burned into the side of the screen, and I just noticed yesterday that there's color bleed-through from a dumb game I play.

I never planned to use it as a TV, so I'll deal .. but it still sucks.

It's good to watch movies and play games, nothing else.

a 42" plasma TV goes well with two 19" LCD monitors"

But I wouldn't use solely a 42" plasma for work tho.

would work great if the PC was in one US state and the monitor in another

I use a 42 inch LCD as a monitor with a wireless keyboard and mouse, but its a media center I use it mostly to play HD video without needing an HD or blu ray player...its cheaper, more efficient and higher quality

Probono 12-07-2006 08:55 PM

I have a MAC Mini with bluetooth mouse and keyboard hooked to a 42" LCD hdtv. Works for itunes videos and showing pics, I would not want to work on it.
