Do you have any compulsive disorders.....?

apart from playing with yourself every now and then...

I check the tap in the bathroom every single
night before i go to bed to make sure it is off...
I even get back up out of bed if i ever forget:(

Any other freaks around here?

SlamDesigns 12-06-2006 10:44 AM

I check my door to make sure that it's locked when I leave the house. Then I get in the car, can't remember if I checked it or not, so I go back and check again. Sometimes one more time after that too.

I have to make sure the coffee pot is unplugged before I leave the house. I'm afraid I'll accidently leave it on and the house will burn down while I'm gone.

BluewireAngie 12-06-2006 11:01 AM

Well my husband calls me an OC.... I just want everything to be in order. Everytime we do our gocery I want every item to be properly arrange in the cart. hehe....

But I'm not that super OC. I can deal with it sometimes.

I like to do things in multiples of three i.e. If there are four stairs, I'll skip one, when I dribble a basketball before I shoot a free throw, it's 3 times, if there are cracks in the sidewalk, I step 3,6,9 times between them and have will sometimes even shuffle step to avoid an 8. I really have no idea why, I don't get too crazy with it but I've done it as long as I can remember. I think EVERYBODY in this world has OCD to an extent. We all do things for reasons we can't really explain or control.

pimplink 12-06-2006 11:08 AM

Sometimes I still do.

rodney25 12-06-2006 11:16 AM

Yes, and such behavior really upsets me. I feel quite stupid everytime I'm into it.

-SECCO- 12-06-2006 11:37 AM

GT-Omar 12-06-2006 11:44 AM

Mine is the same. Sometimes even after checking it 3 or 4 times, I'll drive down the street, turn around to come back and check again. :Oh crap

I've tried to control it by having a certain point in the street after which I'm not allowed to come back and check the door anymore, no matter how much it bothers me. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't.

HighSociety 12-06-2006 12:48 PM

My wife folds dirty clothes before putting them in the laundry basket..you two should meet up :thumbsup

I count things in groups. Like, a large group of objects will rearrange themselves into groups of five in my head (into a pattern like the five spots on a die).

Dagwolf 12-06-2006 02:26 PM

Half the people in my house have OCD. I'm not one of them, but I'm getting there.

shannmarie 12-06-2006 02:32 PM

toilet paper rolls and paper towels need to rolled "over" and not "under". always.

SuiteJ 12-06-2006 02:59 PM

I'm nutty about coffee. I work from home, and have to drink it in take-out cups so I buy them in bulk from a restaurant supply wholesaler. On the odd occasions I run out, I wash and save one that I grab from Tim Horton's in the morning. I can't/won't drink it out of regular mugs. Black lids make me extra giddy but are hard to find.

GrouchyAdmin 12-06-2006 03:01 PM

I like things clean. Not pristine, but clean. I find it's easier to pick up after myself when I'm done than to have a full weekend wasted doing 'cleanup'. Evidently this is a recessive trait.

mortenb 12-06-2006 03:11 PM

Just the normal checking of the alarm clock before going to sleep.. 2-3 times every night.

rigrunner 12-06-2006 03:11 PM

i cant sleep unless the bedroom door is shut.. i guess thats kind of compulsive.

if i can lock the room door even better.

I'm the exact opposite way but that's not necessarily an OCD thing for me, just a usability issue.

well fact is that a year ago...someone in my house left
the tap running over night...the sink flowed over
and the water dripped into the room below....
setting off the fire alarm...calling in the fire brigade
and leaving alot of damage in the house....

that could be a reason for my strange behaviour:Oh crap

Dusan 12-06-2006 06:33 PM

like 12!

-SECCO- 12-06-2006 06:52 PM
