Well, most presents are bought already, but I will have a weekend in Vienna a weekend out in an Austrian village plus I am entertaining on Christmas day and NYE, so probably $3-4,000.

ForteCash 12-05-2006 08:26 AM

We're giving wedding photo's as gifts to our family, so probably less than $500 total. :thumbsup

wyldblyss 12-05-2006 08:26 AM

I don't spend much usually. I just spent €500 today for some presents. I have a few more gifts to buy and I'm done. I think I'll keep my shit under a grand this year.(I don't need to buy xmas foods, my aunt hosts this years family feast, that'll save me several hundred).

Thats always good. I have no idea why people put themselves in debt each year buying mostly useless presents for people, really make sno sense.

Debt? I don't think people buy gifts with credit do they?
What happened to common sense? like... make money first, then spend it..

reynold 12-05-2006 08:59 AM

Enough to make each and every member of my family happy. :)

MissMina 12-05-2006 10:24 AM

Too fucking much $$

Magalie 12-05-2006 10:25 AM

Too much, that'S for sure !

Peaches 12-05-2006 10:29 AM

I'm already in for about $1K and I haven't started on friends and my brother's family of 5 :(

I've done most of my stuff online - either sending directly to people or having it sent to the house. No one delivers to my house, they take it to the front gate. About once every 2-3 days I go down and load up the car with all the boxes ;)

Bad thing is, no one PICKS UP these boxes either, so after Christmas, I'll have to load all the empty ones BACK into the car to haul to the dump.

Minte 12-05-2006 10:31 AM

From my perspective too much, from the people I buy for, probably not enough.

LOL, I'm the opposite - I don't think I spend enough but friends and family think I spend too much :thumbsup This is probably just ONE of the reasons why you have fancy cars and I drive Jeeps :upsidedow

bobby666 12-05-2006 10:35 AM

i am sure, too much

Violetta 12-05-2006 10:41 AM

not too much! Will be working most of the time1

eroswebmaster 12-05-2006 10:46 AM

Just on immediate family...2 nieces...sister...dad and brother around $1K.

Used to be so much easier when my nieces were younger...I could spend $100 on my youngest niece...that would include like a new Barbie car...couple of barbies...barbie clothes...a couple more toys...and it would look like you spent a ton.

Now that they are 14 and 20 $100 doesn't even get them their 1 big present.

Peaches 12-05-2006 10:47 AM

I bought everyone in the family who has a car one of those safety hammers that break the window and can cut the seatbelt if needed. Last year I bought everyone a MagLight. One year everyone got a copy of Milo and Otis. I always pick a little something that EVERYONE gets.

One year we all bought each other those Snake lights. We ended up with 4 or so each :) We now call the gift everyone gets a "Snake light gift".

We also do something different each year. This year it's "Yella" year. From my brother:

Here’s the deal: We’ll draw names for everyone (subject to audit by the accounting firm of (my other brother)). It won’t be a secret who everyone drew. Your task is to find a gift (or gifts) for your chosen person for no more than $5 (you crazies - and you know who you are - can go up to $8 if you just can’t stand it). Here are the guidelines:

- It can’t be something on their list – that’s the big one!
- It can be something you think they’ve always wanted, something they’ll throw away when we clean up the wrapping paper, or even something that could end up being passed along if we do this again someday – as long as you think it will bring a smile to them when they open it (yes, “smiling on the inside” counts).

- It doesn’t have to be new! It could be something homemade or something you do for them (as long as you figure out a way to put it under the tree).

- It has to be wrapped primarily in yellow. That’s not for any particular reason – I just thought it sounded fun. It doesn’t have to be wrapping paper at all, but Peaches (not my real name, but you get the picture) can’t use, um, yellow newspaper.

Yes, I have an odd family ;)
