So does my new I.P. black list site suck?
Just launched it today http://www.forumblacklist.com
It's a PHPBB forums I.P. blacklist service. To help block forum spam bots. What u think? :) |

Looks like a useful resource, but you're pretty free with the wildcards... most of the entries block 256 IPs.
(What's with the 66.*.66.3 entry?) |
they use proxies, theres thousands of new proxies every day, pointless task.
use the word censor and ban em with *@domain.com. they go away after a while |

I can see it doing some good down the road but for now adding each i.p. is a pain. Probably will need to have a tool coded that will enter the i.p. into the database or a PHPBB plugin that will connect to the list in real time. |

Your graphics are over compressed and look like shit.

Looks like something from 2002

decent idea, but probably better way of doing it would be to crawl proxy lists daily and just add them to the blacklist.... and then write a plugin for phpbb/vbulletin/wordpress/etc, so it fetches the list from your server automatically... (or something along those lines)

I've got 348 in mine (all with VERY good reasons) Unfortunately the server gerbils won't let me share. :helpme |
sorry, i first had this idea in 01-02....& it doesn't work
the lists get too large & start affecting load times/cpu |

Easier to block proxies (their ports) and use validate tool.
