for those of you who have high speed internet

doesnt it pain you when you have to go back to a dialup modem? IM here on the tour bus this morning and my laptop only has a 56k modem and surfing the net feels as much fun as a root canal..arrgh!!

Dialup is a pain -- hell.. cablemodem feels kinda like a minor cavity sometimes.

Someday I want to move to the country, and I am really worried that I won't be able to get cable or DSL there. I guess the only option left will be to get the satellite net access, and I have heard that those pretty much suck donkey genitalia. :(

If I ever do move and have to go satellite, I was thinking maybe I would get 2 of them from competing companies, and hook them both into one of those routers that distributes your activity across both connections to achieve maximum usage.

Anyone here have satellite net access?

thats nothing, guy I get content from in the UK has a 56k but it only gets like 33.6 upload and this guy has uploaded over 200 megs of content and he just keeps going.

Satellite access is very fast. You can compare it to cable access or dsl. But, the problem is latency. If you are a gamer don't take satellite access. Expect pings of 2000 ms :)
