The correct position is to keep arafat, if you hold an election now palestines president will be some hamas member. Give the palestinians a state and westernize it. It will give hope to alot of palestinians and the extremist will have alot harder recruiting people. Give them Internet and alot of the people will get educated and start questioning islam which will lead to a better society.

This is totally untrue. Revolutionaries murdered loyalists and their families and destroyed their businesses in an effort to limit goods going back to the Crown. And at the time the combat tactics of the seperatists were considered just as shocking as the suicide bombers are now. There are actually a great many parrallels between the Revolutionary struggle and the Palestinian struggle.

Almost all of where Israel now sits is urban or suburban. Skirmishing out in the woods is just not practical.

As far as killing innocents...I am appalled by this. But you have to remember that every Jew who has emigrated to Israel lives on
Palestinian land and at the expense of the Palestinian people.
They are as legitimate a target as workers killed in bombing raids in WWII.

How come Israel is allowed to ignore UN resolutions? Are they above the law or is it that some are more equal than others?

Now that the USA is in full control of the Gulf Oil, virtually occupying those countries, why does it still need Israel to safe-guard its interests in the area? If the Americans love the Israelis so much why don?t they take them all and give them a state, and take care of them? It will certainly cost the American tax payer much less. The Isreali's have been there for what?..... 50 years now? They became an official nation in 1948. So there has been ample time for everyone in the region to grow up and the older generations die off, so the ONLY THING keeping the hatred and fighting going is education.... the older educators and parents on both sides are training their youth to hate as well. Why? For a problem that started half a century ago.

Good post. I have been saying over and over that the tacics of both sides only exacerbate the hatred. It is my opinion that at some point in time an intervening military force is going to have to be deployed to step between the two sides to bring an eventual end to the killing that both sides are involved in. That is of course assuming that any one in the world actually cares enough about either people to end the killing.

The tit for tat tactics of both sides just keeps the wheel turning.
