Now that it's Christmas Im hearing a lot about spirituality and giving. And hearing that when you give to people, "The universe" will give you back so much more.
Do you believe that?

If you feel good about giving or helping, then the increased mood will make you feel better, and then people are attracted to better / positive feelings, and will be more friendly towards you, etc...

if you stick to the 'clean living' philosophy, for the most part good will come back to you. being a shithead tends to bring trouble back to you. karma is a bitch that way. but to believe that giving and giving and giving is the path to salvation is a little bit stupid...

I think giving is inherinetly a good thing and I do believe that you benefit from that on many levels. But to go into it for that reason is wrong. Usually when I give something I do it anonymously unless there are other people involved in the giving.

OMFG! I sometimes watch Daystar for laughs and that fat old preacher goes on about how he was broke and had nothing and was desperate, then he scraped together everything he had and wrote a check to his church for $200 and things started happening for him.

It was disgusting, telling people who have nothing to struggle more and give money to him. While he's wearing a $5k suit and probably $10k in jewelry on his fat fingers.

Well, that's all well and good when you have say, 10 items to average. But you're also talking about all of existance and time and space... infinity.

To average that, well... let's just say that our tiny meager existant individually is pretty insignificant.

Therefore, if there truly is a "what goes around, comes around" constant in the universe, then that 0.000000000000000001% spec of goodness you just unleashed into existance may take a billion years to come full circle... give or take.

20/20 did a special on giving, and they said that the same chemical that is produced when you receive a gift is also created when you give something to others.... but in higher quantities.

If you do good to other people, they tend to be good to you as well.
