Retirement venture
 

pretty much hammered and going out on a limb here, but is there anyone that'd be interested in partnering up on a catamaran operation in the tropics? Strictly tourist cruises, maybe some diving..... small crew.... maybe 16 (for shift rotations, or could be smaller depending....)

new catamaran runs a few hundred grand... not exactly sure what the licensing $ runs just yet, but I'm actively checking on it.....

I ain't gettin' any fucking younger and I'd prefer to live out my days doing something truly enjoyable.... if anyone is (keyword here) seriously interested..... hit me up......

I'm 1/4 way through a bottle of wine and I'm quite interested, so maybe when I'm 3/4 the way through I'll be seriously interested.

Keep me apraised of your progress as well...I've always wanted to own the northern half of Uruguay, and if the catamaran thing don't work out, $300,000 should just about pick up the whole thing.

preferably just one.... if things are right..... two max. Some Captain, diving, deep sea fishing, or any sea experience would be a huge plus.... but an honest love for the tropics is most definately a must..... it's a different kinda lifestyle here..... it's not for everyone..... :winkwink:

okay, so it is.... but this is also phat bank here..... 365 year round visitors wanting cruises.... and what a way to fuckin' go! Generally would hafta be up and at the docks around 6:30 am.... do a morning cruise, maybe a midday cruise, and then an evening cocktail cruise, every day.... 2 crews switching off so it wouldn't be 7 days.... or switching the hours so it'd be half days. (i.e. run the morning cruise, be done by 1:00pm)

If I had any real venture capital, I'd be all over this like a fly on shit... but I'm a working joe, so good luck. Looks like quiet is interested, though. :)

notice the key on the bottom right... that is a small island.... but really amp you get the chance visit the saipan, truck, rota, bali, they are all great places.... guam is about 7 hours away from you now. :)

Seriously Amp, sounds like a good life.

I don't have that sort of time or coin to invest now, but doing something like that would be fun. I used to deep sea fish in the Gulf of Mexico for big ass grouper as a teenager, also have PADI scuba certs, and I come over to Oahu to freedive and bodyboard once every couple of years. Maybe its time to go back for a week or two, wearing a 3/4mm suit in the 50 degree N. Cali water gets to be a pain in the ass after a while.

In Walnut Creek. Spend alot of my time in the winter on the Peninsula bodyboarding Rockaway, Ocean Beach and the like.

Nah. Only concerts I've been to since moving here was Day on the Green II. Ice T, Gun's n' Roses, and Metallica.. lol. The only thing I remember was being stoned out of my fucking gourd long before the show even started.. and Metallica's set at the end.

You can find me in the cheap seats at the symphony most weeks of their season tho. Great place for chicks too :thumbsup

How competive would this venture be?

Hey how cool... I have a family member that just left Maui but was giving diving tours over there about a year ago. I never made it to visit, and he moved back because he started to really miss the mainland.

But good luck, I hear there is a lotta dough in that sort of thing if you can hang with Maui living. :)

You guys actually want to work more when you retire? I want to build fortresses/palaces in several locations along the ring of fire (Eastern Russia, Asia, and the South Asian tropics) and control thousands of islands.

I'll live in peace like one of those fat Saudi Arabian oil tycoons.

amp, Great idea, I'm thinking along the same lines myself, but i'm still a couple years away from it:( gota finish growing these kids:)
