Is Google PageRank really dead?
 

Have heard conflicting accounts of Google eliminating PR, can someone fill me in on the real story?

PR is here to stay from what I know, but it looses influence over SERPs for quite some time already.

PR is still inportant in the serps.. less so now that people are being able to manipulate them better, google still finds you thru incoming links

PR is now just a number google uses to mislead people and make them think they are important.

pr is going away... or atleast pr as we know it is going away...

I predict in 2007 they will make it so you have to pay for keywords to get listed among x numbers of top links.

PR isnt dead, just doesnt get updated on the toolbar that often.

PR is still alive and well, its an indicator for seo, if you know how to read it your set, bu 99% of the people here don't know how to read it.

your site has no traffic...or has less traffic...that's the cause...not google...

PR means nothing. I have a 3 month old site with PR0 and a TON of top placements on Google.

Then I have PR 5 sites with very little google serps

Such rumors about Google PR might be a Google PR operation :winkwink:

But how would sites list if there was no rank.

I think it's a rumer unless they mean just being able to see it.
