I'm attending a weird cult-ritual today

I'm going to my wifes brothers daughters baptism.
I attended her other brothers sons baptism a few months ago, and man... that was freakish. They 'give the child to Jesus', and if one would change a few words around it'd be fucking occult thing. It really is sickening and weird.
The funny thing is my wifes bro feels the same way, but the mother of the child said she MUST have the child baptised. :1orglaugh

I know some of you morons will attack me now, but I don't really care. Baptism, and church are both fucked up things that we must get rid of. Church-marriage is also a joke, "in front of God's eyes you're now man and wife".. bahahaha..

Anyway, off I go to iron my necktie. Gotta look good for God.

mattz 12-03-2006 04:30 AM

heh have fun...baptism isn't a cult thing though :)

Dirty F 12-03-2006 04:33 AM

Fucking idiots. Tell them i think they should get their asses kicked and that theyre fucking freaks.

Yes it is. It's fucking weird and if you pay attention to what the priest says aside from the 'this is the same stuff I hear everywhere when they talk about God', it's spooky...and people are dead-serious about it too. No giggling no nothing, I don't get it.

well.. atleast there'll be free food.

aico 12-03-2006 04:35 AM

why is it not an Occult? Seems like one to me. Religious freaks.

While there, ask them why they go to church on Sunday when "God" specically told them Saturday was the day to go.

No, these people aren't religious. They don't go to church, the mother of the child just needs to get the child baptised because it's what people do. I think she secretly believes in this junk though.

David_MaskTV 12-03-2006 04:39 AM

you know guys, you better start to go church every sunday... you need that in the future! godbless.... :)

Well, if she believes that baptising the kid will bar him from the evils, let her have it.

Antonio 12-03-2006 05:03 AM

are you kidding me??? I LOVE going to shit like this, I don't believe in God at all, but I've been to at least 5 different churches (even to a happy-clappy one), I've been to a synagogue (SP) and I intend to go to a mosque too, live's too short and I want to see EVERYTHING !!!

p.s. oh, yeah, I went to a baptising thing once too (with an american priest that lives here) - they were dipping the kids in a barrel full of water, it was fun

i love the fake quote button you've put in your sig...
almost got me..

notabook 12-03-2006 06:58 AM

Eh, it's all good as long as you just go to it for the food. One good thing about living in the South (for me at least) is they are constantly having religious events where they always bring the best fucking food. I love when they ask me "what church to you attend?" and I tell them "Oh I'm sorry, I'm a worshiper of the almighty robot god Lord Archiot and as such we don't really believe in attending a wooden church as much as we do metallic spheroids".

Then at that point I usually have to leave because most of the people start looking at me with such an evil stare... you know the stare, the only stare that cold that only a christian can deliver.

v4 media 12-03-2006 07:10 AM

It a cult.. just an old one.. if Sceintolgy had been around 2000 years if would be viewed as a religon and not a cult.

My kid had to de religon at school, we told the school we didnt want him to but because we're not muslim, jewish, hindu, budist etc. they said he had to.

After the first week they changed their mind and said he didn't have to go because he constantly told the teacher she was lying and there was no proof to anything she said.. that's my boy...

I hope you're not confusing satanism with satan-worshipping?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satanism

Satanism makes more sense than Christianity, it's actually pretty close to Buddhism, without all the 'too-gooder' thingies Buddhism has.

..and for all the haters, I've red the bible, I've red the koran and I still think organized religion is usually a cult and people following them are blind and stupid.

Wiggles 12-03-2006 09:27 AM

same with me and my kids, i just let my wife do it, doesn't bother me though.

E$_manager 12-03-2006 09:32 AM

I am not going to attack you, but baptism is not the worst religion in the world. Rather good even.
Some people need religion, so don't count by yourself everyone.

JackL 12-03-2006 09:45 AM

I think anyone who buys into the whole god shit is a fucking retard, The guy has never shown himself but people still believe in him! The bible was proven wrong when The evolution theory started. The reason we have all these stories about god jesus and the rest of that crew is so people think that if they behave in life they will be rewared with a cool after life. In my opinion this was just a way to "control" people years ago the only reason it has lasted so long is because people want to believe this bullshit so much they can't see through the holes in just about ever single storie in the bible

Could you write the same thing in english please?

..oh that's right, you probably just dropped your sig here and never touch this thread again.

CaptainHowdy 12-03-2006 09:48 AM

Religion = Creepy

rodney25 12-03-2006 11:28 AM

That was just one of those countless religious doctrines that everyone who is into that same religion should go through.

Manowar 12-03-2006 11:51 AM

You got it, there's a prety distinct difference between devilworship and LaVeyan satanism. The satanic bible basically just lays out a simplistic philosophy to live by, based on indulgence as opposed to abstinence, all the while keeping ol' number one in mind. The basic premise layed out in the practice is one of the most sound I've ever read. I don't claim to be a satanist myself, that would just be silly, but I openly support the belief system of LaVeyan satanism, and besides, I like flaunting my Satanic Bible around, it's like garlic for christian vampires...

i'm with you. when i was in second grade, a private christian school opened near our home. my parents thought it would be a good way to help me grow up being a good person i guess. i'm not actually sure why they sent me there.

when i got there, i was horrified. i mean really horrified. suddenly i was surrounded by people talking about hearing voices telling them what to do... people telling me all these strange stories about turning water into wine, parting seas, walking into a fire and coming out unharmed etc etc etc. they were telling me that "god" was all powerful and nothing but loving.... after a few weeks,...

the my downfall began as the questions started.

me: "if god loves everyone, why did that baby get killed"
pastor: "because he was called unto gods service. god had a purpose for him and he is with god now"
me: "no, i mean why was the baby slowly burned to death and had to experience such pain. why did god make a baby suffer?"
pastor: "uhmm.... did you finish your homework?... oh! thats a nice shirt young man!... where did you get that shirt"

looking back, it was really comical. i questioned everything and lets be honest here... christianity (and most religions) are long on questions and short on answers. it just wasn't something they were equipped to deal with. every kid there just accepted everything as fact,... its how they were raised. to me, the whole "religion" thing just seemed silly. invisible spirits. angels. god snapping his finger and creating the universe. miracles. denying dinosaurs existed and so on. by the middle of the third grade, i left and went to public school.
