Anyone got any nifty tricks to stop the fucking board spamming bots? I've got the captcha / email verification dealy but the fuckers never stop coming :(

We ban a few each day, have about 10 moderators keeping an eye out and our board visitors report a lot of spam themselfs. But yes its quite some work.

One thing you can do is randomly name the files which are submitting the post data to your database. For example if the page which submits the post is 'postreply.php' you can rename it to 'submitten-zu-weblappenchattentext.php' or the like. Make sure you back the stuff up first, and ensure you're doing a sitewide replacement so any code linking to 'postreply.php' now points to 'submitten-zu-weblappenchattentext.php' .
