in canada we dont have issues with illegal immigrants (except a few naive americans that pop over the border and never go back lol j/k) but what we find in vancouver is a problem with legal immigrants coming to live in our country and mis-treating it. I'm sorry but if you move to canada to get away from the horror in the middle east like war.. then respect our country, our culture, our citizens... not all of them but the majority walk around here forgetting where theyt came from, why they came here and the fact that they are safe and free now... they treat woman in such a way that would make even an east hastings pimp sick (well maybe not him, but a lot of people)... they drive with no respect for others on the road and walk around acting as though this is their country and we are in it, when in actuality its the other way around. I'm all for immigration, i think it's great but i think that those who come to the USA and canada to get away from somewhere else, should be grateful that such countries exist that they can escape to.
not long ago i was at a club in whistler and there were these 2 young guys (indian) walking around, acting tough, picking fights (even with the bouncers) and grabbing girls... and i couldnt help but think about how ashamed their parents would be of their actions and behavior as their parents came here 25 years ago for a safe free life, away from touture, war and all of the other things that happen over seas that we will hopefully never experience here... they came here to raise their children and live a life where they could live like human beings should...free and safe... and this is how their children act... they have no idea how lucky they are to be here, what their parents gave and risked to raise them here and they walk around acting like that... an example that alot of their elders who are here are giving them, its sad and a shame...
its grattitude... no ones asking for a thank you for having a free nation parade every week... its about people appreciating these nations enough to act appropriately whilst in their borders.
an illegal immigrant went to the USA to work for more money and a better life... im all for it... however, he should have appreciated it enough to obide by the rules and laws of the USA... and he didnt and someone died because of it.
not long ago, canada was debating a decision to deport a young indian guy who was an immigrant because he was busted for illegal street racing after running down a pedestrian and killing them. they wanted to set an example that if youre going to live here after being born in a different country, then youre going to obide by our law, and our rules, or you will be sent back to where you were born. and i agree with it.
there are enouigh laws being broken every day as it is, we dont need to be importing people who are just going to cause more crime.
if you come to my house for dinner, you take your shoes off, you dont put your elbows on the table and you dont burp at the table... i feel the same way about my country... you are all welcome in my home for dinner... but if you dont obide by my rules then you will be asked to leave and never ivited back.
im sorry if you disagree, but i feel as though people coming from other nations and respecting our laws, rules, and citizens is not too much to ask for us providing them with freedom and safety.... freedom and safety when you never had it before... think about it.
