The chances of getting any STDs from oral sex are very low.
Of course it's possible and does happen, but it's almost completely dependent on open sores, cuts, cancres, etc. and actually exchanging fluids between two people with them. Menstrual blood or other unusual vaginal secretions increase the chances. The acid level in saliva kills most STDs and gonnorrhea of the throat is generally only contracted when infected blood is swallowed.
To significantly lower your chances, either use saran wrap or dental dams (ya right) or inspect yourself and your partner for even the smallest abrasion, cut, sore, cancre or other crack in the skin. If it's there, don't do it. Also keep in mind that sex tends to cause abrasions and open those pathways (especially rough, un-lubricated sex or anal sex). Anti-bacterial soap and listerine before and after help significantly too.
