What hosts can handle a massive botnet ddos attack?

I need to move my site to one that can handle this

madawgz 12-01-2006 07:24 PM

no site can handle a serious ddos attack...if you have enough bots you can take down anything

doesnt matter if there is "protection" or anything...

maybe try to communicate with the person who is causing you trouble...that would be the easiest way

if your getting as hard as i think your are , you are pretty much fucked man...till they decide to stop the attack.

cybermike 12-01-2006 07:27 PM

anyone friends with darkjedi, please tell him to stop

madawgz 12-01-2006 07:31 PM

thats a serious thing to say about someone, you sure its him?

how do you know?

cybermike 12-01-2006 07:32 PM

I have no proof, but the day after I remove his access from a private forum I get this massive attack

madawgz 12-01-2006 07:34 PM

so your options:

a) give him back access
b) let it ride
c) ddos back
d) get the cops involved

I have a buddy that heads up the tech division of the largest DDOS firm in the world....when most of the companies in the forbes 500 get hit, he is who they call

they place a server in between you and the world that filters out any ddos attacks....pretty advanced shit

i read an article about these guys. its massive amounts of cash to get their services and they basically take control over your whole network. teams and teams of people can actually fly out on location with hardware in hand to handle attacks. its crazy.

wdsguy 12-01-2006 09:19 PM

Depends on how big the attack is, hosts will try their best to help you out but when its starting to affect the rest of their customers they will null route your ip. If this is still going on the guy must be pretty determined. Do you have any idea who this is or why hes targetting you?

wdsguy 12-01-2006 09:20 PM

Really just comes down to how much bandwidth they are throwing at you and how much your host can handle.

also, btw, they don't take control of anything, they just filter traffic

chaze 12-01-2006 10:35 PM

You need your own pipe for this. So about $800
