agreed. :)

OdieGiblet 11-29-2006 06:24 PM

I vote bat. With some rap in the background. Office Space style. =)

A gun really doesn't have the dramatic and visual effect of a motherboard exploding into a million little bits. Make sure you wear safety glasses too if you're going to tear into the case.

Spunky 11-29-2006 06:27 PM

Give it a good kick every now and then

MorningWood Stefen 11-29-2006 06:30 PM

Click the "Auto Save" feature in Premiere! :) FYI, Premeire Pro seems to be the most stable NLE for PC's. I use Mac now!

Best part of that movie!

RawAlex 11-29-2006 07:22 PM

Vid, one of the things I noticed about Matrox / Premiere is there are certain combinations of things that fuck it up beyond understanding. For whatever reason, it will puke it's guts out on what seems to be very simple, but in fact is really complicated.

Check through and see what filters and transitions you may be using. I learned pretty quickly to avoid the matox transitions until the very end, as they tend to suck the machine dry of resources and most of the major bomb out errors occur during their rendering on the fly. Save often.

Keep notes of what you are doing when it blows up, and you will start to see patterns of what it is that is making it go nuts.

vidvicious 11-29-2006 08:42 PM

Actually Alex I do the same thing... always leave my effects and heavy rendering for last ...

Marketsmast .. you might have something there .. the pC does seem to lag when Iè, doing more then one thing ... Extra Ram might just do the trick

Thanks

vidvicious 11-29-2006 08:43 PM

Opps double post ... is the site loading slow for everyone else?

Naughty Pyne 11-29-2006 09:00 PM

I was having the same problems with my PC using Adobe Premier Pro and the Matrox RTX-100 card. After a couple of frustrating years of barely hitting deadlines and the constant frustration of the damn thing always crashing, I decided to walk away from PC and switch over to Mac. I had over $6k into my PC trying new software, motherboards, constant upgrades and it never worked correctly. I ordered the Mac and right out of the box has been a dream. I hate to say it bro, but sometimes it is better to just walk away.

You switched from Mac to PC???? Huh? Nobody does that.

clickricky 11-30-2006 09:11 AM

vid 32bit p4 cannot process your movies fast enuff even a dual, that's the reason why mac is great for editing all g5 on up are 64bit, second option you can buy an avid editing station that a 10k purchase. Next to my g5 I also run premiere pro 2.0 on amd 64bit 1.8 single processor never ad a crash or froze. If you wanna quickly solve this, get a little program like tweak xp and make sure to dump all your .dll and clear your ram often close any other programs even your emails. that should imporve.
have fun :)

carol.prime 11-30-2006 09:21 AM

you may want to try edius pro, though its not that user friendly; especially its interface its fast for pc workstations - faster than premiere pro i believe :) on the other hand, g5 can do miracles

I have a friend that got pissed off at his laptop and actually smashed it to pieces. He started with an uppercut to the screen and went from there.
