What Kind Of Investment Portfolio Do You Have?

For example,

50% Cash (bank account)
30% Mutual fund
10% rental property (real estate you own but don't live in)
10% Something else

Etc.

I'm sure many of you don't have any kind of savings or investments but I'm interested in what works well for those who do?

Long term savings I still go with the stocks & short term mutual funds.

50% Stock
30% Mutual Funds
10% Cash
10% Art & antiques

15% online business
15% cash
35% Hedge fund
35% real estate

my greatest return so far are my hedge funds.

I'll look into hedge funds... Sounds interesting, pretty much means they can just short as well as go long?

Candyman69 11-28-2006 11:28 AM

Yes thats correct. taken off the company i'm using

Hedge Funds Mutual Funds
? 'Absolute' return objective ? 'Relative' return objective
? Flexible investment objectives ? Limited investment objectives
? Unconstrained by benchmark index ? Constrained by a benchmark index
? Lower correlation to markets ? Higher correlation to markets
? Take long and short positions ? Take long-only positions
? May employ leverage ? No use of leverage
? Manager fees tied to performance ? Manager fees not typically tied to performance
? Usually large minimum investment size ? Small minimum investment size
? Usually sold by Offering Memorandum only

just copy pasted sorry if this turns out messy LOL

Usually a business doesnt qualify for an investment portfolio, you usually only consider liquid assets, and real estate as the only non-liquid.

I'm 75% diversified mutual funds, 25% cash, all in my company 401k. :thumbsup
