I hate it all, the shopping, the traffic, the music, the ipod-cellphone-playstation-xbox-hi-def-50% off sale-rebate-open at 6am-buy now pay later bullshit and especially the phony fucks pretending to give a shit about fellow man because it's "The holidays"...How about not being a complete asshole the rest of the year?

It's a bucket of fake bullshit served up to us by the corporations and churches and shoved down the throats of the fat, lazy, lethargic, mindless American public to keep our minds occupied while our hard earned wealth is robbed and transferred to the elite few.

i soooo totaly agree you with ... Xmas is only comercial now... Store put "sales" or should say scams for people to spend 1000's of $ on toys and eletronics! Family get to getters don't mean nothing any more! All Kids want now dayz is Gifts for Xmas and if they don't get there new playsation 3 for Xmas well they will Pick a hissy fit! Personnally i still celebrate Xmas because my family is religious ... even if i'm not i still owe them respect ... i dont even think we should give out gifts ...people should just be thank full for having each other! Of course Xmas has been commercialized. It's the American way. lol BUT, if you look past all the bullshit, and LET your mind and heart open for 1 month out of the year, maybe you wouldn't be such a grinch

You say that people saying things like "happy holidays" and such to each other is fake. No it's not. It's the one time a year that let's strangers say hello without anyone thinking we're strange or trying to get anything from them.

Personally, I love the "sales" at Christmas time. I could never get Season 1 and Season 2 of "24" on DVD for $16 during any other time of the year (which it's normally $60-$70 per season any other time).

I could go on and on, but I won't. The point I'm trying to make is, try to look past the bullshit and love the little moments Christmas gives us. Time with family (example: flying out of town to visit relatives), going that extra mile to get a gift that will mean so much to someone else (from a toy donation to orphans, to giving someone you know something special that will make them smile). In negative, find the positive

or order a table in a restaurant, prices suddenly doubled also

Then you just switch to giving money, you give another person $100 and you get $100 back ... so much fun huh

Right on point! I do the tree and shit because I have kids and they love it...they are lucky enough to not see the inherent evil in it all. If I didn't have kids, I'd probably treat it just as any other day.

Since I don't worship Jesus, I see no reason to celebrate his birth, although I do see that it has become a part of Americana so I can understand the "tradition" element of having Christmas anyways. I just do not buy in to the commercial circus it has become, it sickens me and I think it represents some of our worst behaviors in a lot of ways. I hope someday people see that. Then maybe it'll become a fun time of year instead of a total annoyance.

I bought everyone's gifts online and are having them mailed to their place w/card. No shopping, no crowds, no outrageous prices and everyone got mostly the same shit: Zum Soaps / Omaha Steaks / Bo0ze.

Spent $750 total.

Only now have to shop for just the wife. I can get all her shit online as well.

The rest of the holiday - I cant wait to see old friends and family again in person + watch the mummers parade on New Years on TV....

Oh well I actually like the holiday and I do not go with the religious symbolism of it myself. I love the smells, the food, the get together s, and buying and or making gifts for others. I enjoy putting up and decorating the tree's, I like making the house feel all festive. I have fun finding new ornaments that I am collecting for my future kids one day.

I do not much care for the shopping, but that is just due to the crowds.
